Al Qaeda’s Ayman Al Zawahiri, second in command to Osama bin Laden, was rumoured to have been wounded or even killed recently. It seems not.

In a video posted on the internet on 21st August 2008, he calls, in English, for Pakistani ‘volunteers’.

There are also shots of him from the early 1980s – let me repeat that – FROM THE EARLY 1980s SAYING:

“We are Muslims. We are Muslims who believe in terrorism” (See 1:29 – 1:34 on video).

For how much longer will we in free democracies around the world accept the nonsense that terrorism is all about Iraq and Afghanistan? This man said these words over 20 years ago!

We have swallowed their propaganda whole. Al Qaeda was ALWAYS out to get the west. From the lips of its leaders – it believes in terrorism.

Here’s hoping civilised governments ARE working with the west. It may be our only hope, while so many in western liberalism still refuse to see the truth, even when it is before their very eyes.

PAKISTAN IN TERROR STRANGEHOLD

Al Qaeda’s Ayman Al Zawahiri knows what he is up to. Pakistan is in a parlous state right now with the breakup of the coalition and the widower of the assassinated Benazir Bhutto saying, quite openly, that the world is losing the war against terror.

Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has warned against the rise in Taliban power, and the defeat in global war on terror.

In an interview with the BBC, the widower of slain Benazir Bhutto said that the Pakistani Taliban have “the upper hand” and should be put on the list of banned organizations in Pakistan.

“It is an insurgency”, he said, adding, “and an ideological war. It is our country and we will defend it. The world is losing the war. I think at the moment they (the Taliban) definitely have the upper hand”.

Zardari warned that the insurgency would not plague only Pakistan and Afghanistan, but that it would spread further. “The whole world is going to be affected by it.”

Zardari has been named by the PPP as the party’s presidential nominee.

Some are calling for a new popular leader. Easier said than done, when popularity brings the threat of assassination.

And meanwhile in Iraq female suicide bombers are proving hard to beat. There have been more attacks by women than in the previous five years put together.

“The Daughters of Iraq” are working with the authorities to prevent them, as men are not permitted to search women.

Some of these women are seemingly moved to become suicide bombers after their menfolk are killed. But often they are used by ruthless male relatives. Pregnancy often plays a major role in this. So much for loving and honouring one’s family!
