THREE MEN CHARGED over death threats to Blair & Brown

Three men have been charged with terrorism offences in connection with a plot to kill Gordon Brown & Tony Blair, posted on a jihadi site on the internet in January. Five men were arrested over the last few weeks.

The three are charged with some or all of the following:

Soliciting murder, belonging to a banned organisation (Al Qaeda), collecting and distributing terrorist publications and the possession of articles in support of terrorism.

The three will appear in court in London tomorrow, Friday.

See The Guardian’s report here, (also pasted below)

‘Three men being questioned over an alleged plot to assassinate Gordon Brown have been charged with terror offences.

The threats, which were also made against the former prime minister Tony Blair, were published in January on an extremist jihadi website.

They were purportedly from a group calling itself al-Qaida in Britain, which demanded the withdrawal of British forces from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ishaq Kanmi, 22, has been charged with soliciting murder, belonging to al-Qaida and distributing terrorist publications.

Abbas Iqbal, 23, has been charged with distributing terrorist publications and his brother Ilya Iqbal, 21, faces a charge of possessing an item connected to the preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism.

The men, who are all from Blackburn, were arrested at Manchester airport and Accrington, Lancashire, under the Terrorism Act on August 14.

They will appear in Westminster magistrates court in London tomorrow.

Two other men are still being questioned in connection with the alleged plot. They are a 24-year-old white Muslim convert, who was arrested in Blackburn on Tuesday, and a 29-year-old man, thought to be Eastern European, who was held in Derby early yesterday.’

Oh … and by the way … so that Dhimmi Brits understand that their cause is still on-track, read this:

‘FAST during Ramadan’ – non-Muslim Councillors told by Labour Muslim councillors!

Even the Lib Dems have noticed – so it MUST be serious!

All members of Tower Hamlets Council in east London, where 36 per cent of the population follows Islam, were sent an email asking them to abide by the restrictions observed by strict Muslims during the holy month.

They have also been told that the town hall’s business agenda will be reduced throughout Ramadan to accommodate Muslims, with only seven committee meetings scheduled and special prayer breaks included in the evening events.

Tower Hamlets Council has previously insisted that staff call their Christmas meal the “festive lunch”, replaced Bonfire Night celebrations with a show based on a Bengali folk tale and taken hot cross buns off school menus.

The Liberal Democrats leader in Tower Hamlets, Stephanie Eaton, says it is inappropriate  and a bad message after a request from Muslim councillors that non-muslim councillors should be asked not to eat while their Muslim colleagues are fasting.

Cllr Stephanie Eaton, leader of the Lib Dem group, said she would be ignoring the new Ramadan regime and added: “I was rather disconcerted to see that the arrangements put in place for Ramadan, which we support for Muslim colleagues, have been imposed upon all councillors.

“We object to the request that non-Muslim councillors observe the fasting rules for Ramadan. This sends out the wrong message to our community.

“Our community consists of a huge number of different religions, all of which should be valued, and no one religion should be accorded more status or influence than others.”

I SINCERELY hope not! Has dhimmitude taken a step too far and hit the councillors in their stomachs? There might be hope yet that the Liberal Democrats will notice that this country has a problem with creeping Sharia!

I do have to ask, and will continue to do so unless and until Labour gets this in hand – WHAT IS LABOUR DOING ABOUT THE QUISLINGS IN ITS MIDST? I am not referring to the Tower Hamlets Muslim councillors;  they’re doing what comes naturally. The Quislings are those in the government who are allowing this to happen for reasons of ’social cohesion’, while the glue that binds us dries out.

Read the Up Pompeii site for more on this and the Daily Mail (all right, I know!) but they can’t be wrong ALL the time.

KTB, thought you might be interested in this. I just read an article by Mark Styen. He is being charged with crimes due to Muslim law in Canada. The title of his article is Lights Out on Liberty.
It’s scary stuff. It’s our liberty he’s talking about. The radical Muslims have too many rights and their demands for THEIR rights are taking OUR rights out from under our noses.

Horrifying! Do you know if he has been charged yet?

On a quick search I found this, from 16th December, 2007:

… referring to the New York Times article here of the same date

Any updates that you know of?

Steyn seems to be saying similar to a lot of us. His site is here. Perhaps we should all volunteer to be charged!

He uses the same phrases – ’slippery slope’ etc as we often use. No, “murder all infidels” or “kill unbelievers/ apostates” as far as I can see in his writings. But then again, THAT’S permitted it would seem, as long as it comes from a certain quarter.

And being taken to task for his words on 2040 – how incredible!

In Canada, the official complaint about my own so-called “flagrant Islamophobia”—filed by the Canadian Islamic Congress—attributes to me the following “assertions”:

America will be an Islamic Republic by 2040. There will be a break for Muslim prayers during the Super Bowl. There will be a religious police enforcing Islamic norms. The USS Ronald Reagan will be renamed after Osama bin Laden. Females will not be allowed to be cheerleaders. Popular American radio and TV hosts will be replaced by Imams.

In fact, I didn’t “assert” any of these things. They are plot twists I cited in my review of Robert Ferrigno’s novel, Prayers for the Assassin. It’s customary in reviewing novels to cite aspects of the plot. For example, a review of Moby Dick will usually mention the whale. These days, apparently, the Canadian Islamic Congress and the government’s human rights investigators (who have taken up the case) believe that describing the plot of a novel should be illegal.

My goodness, have they read my thoughts on “Wiki Labour 2050″? I’d better cancel that trip to Canada. It’s a touch more free here in good ol’ blighty for homegrown citizens – so far!

I am sincerely hoping that the people appearing in court today in London over the kill Brown & Blair business – IF they are guilty – will serve as an example. No-one should be free to encourage, solicit or glorify terrorist acts.

The boundaries between free speech and the security of all of us need to be reset.

After all, terrorist fundamentalists don’t DO irony or sarcasm.

Only murder. And that’s not a laughing matter.

Btw, thanks for this “heads-up” as you Americans say, Beowulf.

I think I might use it in in its own page here.

The ‘Lights Out on Liberty’ artcile is here

The ‘Al Qaeda in Britain’ message, written in English, appeared only briefly on January 24th, 2008 because the website http://www.al-ekhlaas.net/forum/ was shut down in Tampa Fl, USA on Jan 28th, 2008 by the Tampa Tribune see story click here and then was shut down in Phoenix Arizona on Feb 1st 2008 by the Arizona Republic Newspaper see story click here.

Thank you for this, Bill. You are doing great work keeping an eye on these people.

Your site – here – for my other readers to follow.

From your site I clicked through to the report here on Homeland Security on governments clamping down on these websites. Or attempting to! How do you compete against YouTube, for a start?

As governments around the world become increasingly aware of the role of the Internet in disseminating and facilitating terrorist activities and organizing a move is afoot to confront that threat through censorship of information promoting “extremist ideologies”. In January in the UK Home Secretary Jacqui Smith announced a new crackdown on Web sites that promote violent Muslim extremism. The UK policy is to track down and remove Illegal material on the Internet aimed at recruiting susceptible people into terrorism following the same tactics already used to combat online pedophiles.

Not sure how you regard their progress, Bill, but here in Britain, we hear very little. Our dhimmi, brainwashed, infiltrated liberal press and mouthy ‘intelligentsia’ populace continues to put forward the line that we should trust our politicians less, far less than such as comment at The Guardian’s ‘Comment is Free’ articles.

I suppose if this crowd of jihadists had managed to kill Brown or Blair the doubters might actually notice. Some of them, anyway. Of course the commenters at Cif would most likely be cheering to the rafters.

Clamping down, or at least weeding out jihadi sympathisers who have infiltrated the online newspapers’ columns is another priority, imho. But how do you do it in lands with a free press?

    We have a BIG problem.

I’d appreciate it it you kept us informed.

    Many thanks.
