6th Dec 2008 UPDATE: “O J Got Screwed“. This blog and this one have the same headline, and make similar points. I haven’t followed this story but the fact that he did NOT kidnap anyone, AND that he seems to have been set up with bugging equipment (WHO did THAT, and WHY) both mean that he would NOT have been found guilty in the UK. As for the ALL-WHITE JURY … well, I’m all for balance. I would not be surprised if an appeal succeeds. His past (violent) history and acquittal over the 1994 murders, deserved or not, should not have entered into his sentencing. Somehow I think his past decided his future.

VOTE HERE ON O J SIMPSON’S SENTENCE
HOW long? Was it 6/9/15/33 years (I’m still confused)
HIS VOICE QUIET AND TREMULOUS O J SIMPSON MADE A LAST PITCH FOR CLEMENCY
Am I just a soft touch? (Yes – I hear some of you say – or you wouldn’t have this site.)
Whatever … I felt quite sorry for O J Simpson today in the Las Vegas courtroom when he was sentenced to 15 years.
Considering that here in Britain some convicted child rapists and killers, and terrorist collaborators too often get half of that, it seemed overkill to me.
But it explains why terrorism suspects avoid like hell extradition to America.
And it encourages me in the hope that more of them will be shipped out to the states, given the parlous and weakened state of our dhimmi legal system.

Thanks for the plug. The fact that he barged into a hotel room with armed gunmen makes this a crime, but certainly not one worth this amount of time.
I know I’m from the other side of the pond and have no say in your politics over there, but I have a lot of respect for Tony Blair and wouldn’t have minded seeing him finish out his term as PM.
If President Bush had a faction of the vocabulary of Tony Blair, he’d probably be a lot more influential both in domestic and foreign politics.

You’re welcome kevin. I enjoyed your article and the most recent one is also a good read. Your website here for others to peruse.
It’s amazing what we’re not told, isn’t it? Just as well we have blogs, though I do wish some of those weren’t written by so many who seem unhinged.
I too made this point, during the (loans for ) Honours fiasco, which will remain a black mark against the history of Blair forever, despite the whole business being dropped after 17 wasted months. He will go down as the first British prime minister to have been questioned by Police – three times in fact, until they realised He was right and they were wrong.
Many in the British mainstream press (the press more than the public) still feel that Blair was let off for all sorts of reasons, for instance to do with a corrupt Police Force, and the you scratch-my-back mentality. They always will. Sad, isn’t it?
As for OJ, I am sure you are right. I have not followed this case I must admit, but it just seemed too long a sentence comparatively, and I don’t think another accused individual would have got the same length of sentence. I bet he wins on appeal – a shorter sentence anyway.
