- Petition against Dorothy Byrne for inviting Ahmadinejad to Channel 4
Comment at end
UPDATE – Watch Ahmadinejad here on Britain’s Channel 4, subsidised by YOU the British taxpayer. Sounds like he has been learning at the feet of Tony Blair. Just where he belongs. Or watch it on YouTube here.
Christmas Eve – 24th December, 2008
This is funny. Channel 4 has long prided itself as being a bit of a joke. Swallow this with your mulled wine, but be careful with that vegetable peeler.

What is this man doing on British TV with a Christmas message? I could have sworn both Morecambe & Wise (1971 Christmas Special) had been dead for some time now.
Iran’s Ahmadinejad to make UK Christmas broadcast (24/12/2008)

What is he measuring, or perhaps conducting? Now this is how to conduct and get a laugh from the audience -
EVEN FUNNIER THAN AHMADINEJAD – classic Morecambe & Wise, with Andre Previn
(10m 50s) Fast forward to the last 2 mins if the sprouts are over-cooking. Unmissable.
MAHMOUD AHMADINEJAD TELLS CHRISTIANS IT’S ALL CHRISTIANS’ FAULT!
The way to win friends and influence people?
Still, I expect we can expect a return bout next Muslim Festival, when Mr Blair will no doubt be invited to speak to the Iranian people about faith. Not that he’d criticise Mr Ahmadinejad, even indirectly, under such circumstances. He’s FAR too polite and would never be rude to his hosts.
Thinking about this exchange visit possibility, I suppose his sister-in-law, Lauren Booth, she of the Free Gaza crowd, could organise it through her new employer – Iran’s PRESS TV. They owe her.
Lauren presents ‘In Focus’ on the Islam Channel and ‘Between The Headlines’ on Press TV
Article follows:
LONDON (AP) – Merry Christmas, “bullying, ill-tempered and expansionist powers.”Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will deliver a Christmas Day broadcast on Britain’s Channel 4 television, occupying a slot used to provide an often controversial counterpoint to Queen Elizabeth II’s traditional annual message, the station said Wednesday.
In his recorded message, Ahmadinejad offers seasonal greetings to Christians and says he believes that if Jesus was alive, he would “stand with the people in opposition to bullying, ill-tempered and expansionist powers,” an apparent reference to the United States and its allies.
According to a transcript of the broadcast released in advance, Ahmadinejad says most of the world’s problems stem from leaders have turned against religion. He doesn’t refer to rival nations or leaders by name or raise the issue of Israel, despite his previous calls for the removal of the Jewish state.
“If Christ was on earth today undoubtedly he would hoist the banner of justice and love for humanity to oppose warmongers, occupiers, terrorists and bullies the world over,” Ahmadinejad said, according to the text.
The U.S., Britain and others suspect Iran of secretly developing nuclear weapons, while Tehran insists its uranium enrichment program is intended solely for a civilian energy program.
Ties with the U.K. were further strained in 2007 over the detention by Iran of 15 British sailors and marines, who were held for 13 days.
Ahmadinejad’s message follows similar Christmas broadcasts on Channel 4 by the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sharon Osborne and the animated TV character Marge Simpson of “The Simpsons.” Last year’s message was delivered by Sgt. Maj. Andrew Stockton, a British soldier badly wounded in Afghanistan.
Ahmadinejad spoke in Persian, with subtitles in English, the channel said.
Dorothy Byrne, head of news and current affairs at Channel 4, said Ahmadinejad had been selected because relations between Iran and the West are likely to be a key global issue in 2009.
“As the leader of one of the most powerful states in the Middle East, President Ahmadinejad’s views are enormously influential. As we approach a critical time in international relations, we are offering our viewers an insight into an alternative world view,” Byrne said in a statement.
The channel’s news program broadcast an interview with Ahmadinejad in September 2007, when the Iranian leader insisted his nation wasn’t seeking to develop a nuclear weapon.
LESSONS FROM THIS MAN ON RELIGION?
The religion that executes its own for crimes the civilised west believes are God’s to judge, such as adultery and homosexuality? He may not mention “leaders” by name, but why do I get this feeling that the Iranian leader is somewhat spooked by Tony Blair’s Faith Foundation?
Blair & Bush – both deeply religious men - described by Mr Ahmadinejad as “leaders who have turned against religion.” Come on, Mr Ahma … who writes your scripts?
LESSONS FROM THIS MAN ON JESUS CHRIST?
If Jesus Christ were alive today Mr MeDjihadNaa … (sorry, brain’s scrambled) … Ahmadinejad, he’d surely have something to say about states which execute their own citizens for adultery.
Almost two thousand years ago, more than 500 years before Mohammedism, Jesus said: I do not condemn you … Go and sin no more”. Your later religious/political creed is STILL living in primitive times.
St. John 8:11b “…And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”
From Ethics Forum: Iran has just hanged nine people convicted of murder in a mass execution in a Tehran prison as well as a drug trafficker in the north of the country. Amnesty International says Iran carried out more death sentences in 2007 than any other country apart from China, executing 317 people. Capital offences in the Islamic republic include murder, rape, armed robbery, drug trafficking and adultery.
Lessons from THIS MAN? On anything? I don’t think so.
Tomorrow at just before 3:00pm, I’ll settle down with millions of others, glass in hand – alcoholic wine, you understand, Ahmadinejad – and watch The Queen’s Christmas message instead.
Mere Rhetoric refers to Channel 4’s airing of this character, mockingly, as well they might:
“Launch an unprovoked attack on British soldiers, take them hostage, and then cynically parade them in front of cameras – you get to give a rebuttal to the reigning sovereign on Christmas Day. Spend decades making concessions to intransigent enemies and watching your peace overtures get rejected – you get demonized and ostracized. There’s a joke in here somewhere about the kinds of lessons that Tony Blair must be picking up from his daily Koran readings. But at this point I just don’t have the heart to make it. Happy Christmas to Britain I guess.”

Italy, capital of Rome, home of Roman Catholicism, has gone (dhimmi) native. The message? 'And Jesus was born in a mosque because there was no room in the Inn.' Come ON!
My God, it’s enough to make me turn to religion. I might even go to midnight mass tonight. As long as my local Anglican Church does not alter the words of Silent Night, omitting to mention the “virgin mother and child”, as ordered from “on high” (the Archbishop, that is) last year.
I despair at times. I really do.
Instead of paying attention to Ahmadinajad or fools in The Vatican’s home country, you might want to watch this very American-style video – “That’s My King” – sent in by a regular reader.

'Birth of Christ' by Carl Bloch
Merry Christmas to you all.

Awwww how sweet it is little christian fuzzies huddling together protected from the storms, cutely shivering until the return of their lord. BUNK! Christians make me PUKE…get rid of them. They conspired and blew up the world trade center on 9/11.. (or was that the americans…since america is a christian nation …what’s the difference anyway). Oh yes it HAS been proven there were explosives in those buildings (and same conspirators on 7/7 btw…they ARE a coalition). Christians did all that, waged nukular war pulled the arms and legs off Jews who wouldn’t convert years ago, sent their own children to die in the childrens crusade in the snow, of course there were the CRUSADES, and they kept slaves on their farms which they now have sex with and are led by. Oh what a hypocritical and STUPID people, from sick and lowly ancestors. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the WORLD with 2 billion followers 7 times the size of the total population of the USA, and growing more popular and stronger by the day. Ahmedinejad is more a leader to the world than any christian minority, and we’re sick of the christian slobbering. It’s time for christians to exit the infancy stage and enter adulthood. The time of the gentiles has passed.

To american jihadi -
I’ve removed your web link since it went nowhere. Similar to your rantings, be warned.
It was, for those interested – http://none – configured to take you to a page of advertisements. Try it if you like. Not exactly true to Sharia, being so devious, is it? Typical of many of the lies and deceptions to be found among some of its advocates, in my humble opinion.
Come on back, tough guy, american jihadi. We’re waiting for your true message.
In case you didn’t understand from this post – (and I did come out as a non-believer if you’d like to check) – religion means little to me in personal terms. God/Allah/whoever has kept himself unknowable to me since the age of adult reason, roughly 17 in my case.
We sort of prefer it if people are not expected to sell their thought processes to ANY cause in infancy, religious or otherwise. We think it more acceptable to leave them free to work it out for themselves ALL their lives. Our journey of discovery and learning should last ALL of our time on earth. Unlike in Islam, where the brainwashing, it seems, is daily from infancy to decrepitude. But then that’s FREEDOM for you. Freedom which arises from democracy, both concepts your medieval mindset cannot contain or hope to understand.
I am awaiting the return of no-one or nothing except common sense. But I DO recognise that some people are, of all religions, whether or not I’d prefer it otherwise. That’s the sweet nature of the freedoms of choice we have here in the democratic west – religion or no-religion. For being agnostic or atheist I don’t get threatened with death. Not in Britain or America or the civilised world.
How about in the world of american jihadi? What would you recommend for such as me?

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is an alcoholic fraud. This man was a failure in all he did before politics. He is bitter against the world because of his personal depression- not unlike that 1940s German fraud Hitler. Hitler was no racist (he was a bitter twisted man who used evil to compensate his lack of self belief just like Ahmadinejad also disguises his vices to pretend he achieved more than he was qualified to do (well, being President is far better than being a lecturer – he should be happy!!!!!!!!!!!))What he cannot see is that he is the key to ending a recession. If he makes friends with the West, he ends the credit crunch for good – an astute politician he ain’t. He would be set up for life. But Ahmadinejad likes only two things – Vodka and self destructiveness. Iranian people do not as a rule destroy themselves through egotism, substance abuse, suicidal politics, besotted megalomaniacism, etc. Ahmadinejad is an answer to Bush and a reaction to that time – a failed person who was there at the right time to take advantage. Unfortunately, Iran is stuck with this silly man who actually is capable of more decent things if he tried!!
