This is dedicated to (most of) the one brain-cell Cif-ers commenting at the Guardian’s article today on Blair as Britain’s candidate for EU President, by Glenys Kinnock.
THE LAUGHING POLICEMAN – BLAIR SUPPORTER
Dear Cif-er,
If your concentration levels are limited – (what do I mean “if“?) – just scroll to 22 seconds to see what I did when I first glanced through your cloned comments at this article today.
Ah, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Whoah, ho-ho-ho-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Whoah, ho-ho-ho-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Whoah, ho-ho-ho-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
[Aside: If I thought you could grasp the value of it I COULD mention the fact that Mr Blair helped in no small measure to end the decade of civil war in Sierra Leone and is a hero in that land. But since former Liberian President Charles Taylor is defending himself today in the The Hague International Criminal Court today regarding war crimes charges in Sierra Leone, I won't mention it. (No, really I won't.)]
Wouldn’t want to bother your tiny minds as to the merits of pre-judging if and when exactly people are guilty, candidates for locking up, chopping up, disembowelling, frying, lynching or other tasty methods of doing away with that you so love to share in your juvenile chat rooms at the hang-out for society’s confused.
Hate to spoil the children’s fun.

Hi B, thanks for the laugh. I remember when I was about six or so, and an acting troupe visited my school and performed the laughing policeman. You make me laugh.
By the way, your sidebar width has narrowed making some of the text spill out of the sidebar column. Your postings are as readable as usual, the text hasn’t misaligned but there is a pale grey shading showing up in the background of the postings. If you could drag the sidebar column across half an inch to make it wider, your blog face should fall back into place. I wonder if you have changed something in your template or added something new in your sidebar, say a photo or text that is wider than the actual column. Having said that, I’ve noticed lately that my sidebar goes South for no reason and text becomes centered spread all over the place but sometimes rights itself after a few days.
One trick I know of that works on blogspots is to go into settings and reduce the number of postings on the front page and save; if that doesn’t work reduce the number to one and save and leave it for a little while. If the blog returns to normal, go back into settings and increase the number of postings per front page.
Maybe WordPress has a Q&A users forum or somewhere you could check if other WordPress sites are having a sidebar problem. Good luck. It’s a hassle I know, and takes hours of fiddling about getting sorted.

Yep, Ingrid. You have to laugh or you’ll cry at the Cif-ers.
Thank God they are only a few of the population, and they alll seem to gather at CIF. I’ve yet to meet anyone who calls Blair a “war criminal” in real life. Maybe I just know nicer people.
The thing is – like a gang of self-important louts gathering en masse in a seedy joint – they think they are the majority.
Am presently looking at all what you suggest re the blog and WordPress are on the job too. They are very quick at responding. And keeping on keeping on. So let’s hope it’s resolved soon.
