UPDATE: The joker below (Mr Thorpe) told another Blair Supporter, Caela, that “no-one is an Asian” at his purportedly comic blog. And the punchline? … pardon? … oh you mean that’s IT? Ha… little ha.
Comment at end
1st September, 2009

Following a note from Yours Truly Julie has blogged here on a certain blog and its bootiful people. She did so to make a point, and not only or mainly about the luck of genetic inheritance.
(I DO hope The Bootifuls realise how ‘blessed’ they are. TWO fans of The Man spending twenty minutes of their time on juvenile ranters.)
Purely the camera flash’s happenchance I know, but the picture on the right below (also via Julie) made me think of this. Beams/planks/specks/motes and wood, Mr Thorpe?
Looks aren’t everything … and we aren’t all Cleopatra lookers like Julie (for another picture see the post on Julie’s exclusive Afghan family interview)

THE UGLY SOUNDS OF THE SPROGBLOGS
It’s the ugly WORDS emanating from these anti-Blair bloggers that bothers me. Advocating severe, even summary ‘justice’ has become the norm by commenters at some of our dailies, encouraged by the irresponsible newspapers themselves.
It is important that those of us who don’t wish to splatter politicians on a pavement should make our voices heard.
REMOVING THE HYPOCRITICAL BEAM
Disregarding the luck of inheritance and genetics, and in an effort not to be too personal (there are many less good-looking people than Greenteeth), the eyes are said to be the mirror of the soul. Being Catholic or perhaps not, this particular blogger might care to look in the mirror.
Remove that beam, oh ye coarse, loud-mouthed and hypocritical blogger …
Since, as we all know – it’s what we DO and SAY that counts in this world, read on…
Tasty chips of “Greenteeth” – an aptly UGLY-named blog
What have we learned recently about Tony Blair? Well, that he’s a c ….; yes but we’ve always known he’s one of those, I was going to say that he’s a Catholic. A very recent recruit to the Catholic Church in fact. So as most Catholics are still practising after half a lifetime we have a right to expect Tone would have spent a bit more time learning the ropes before he starts lecturing more experienced Catholics on how to be good members of their religion.
Ah but Tony Blair is no ordinary mortal, he is a one man insurgency, an agent of the Dark Lords of globalisation whose job is to work insidiously to subjugate our free will, inhibit our ability to think and act of our own volition and to control our thought processes.
The Little Blogger continues in his other-wordliness fashion …
Since he somewhat fell from grace in the wake of the debacles in Iraq and Afghanistan the festering gobshite has been working to convince us he is really one of the good guys and is on our side and not the kind of two faced, self adoring scum – sucker who would betray his people and his nation for a smidgin of personal glory. His latest ruse in furtherance of that aim is to blether on ad nauseum about his love affair with The Vatican.
Greenteeth’s coarse, insulting and vile banter goes on in this teeth-aching mode. He even suggests this harking back fondly several centuries:
“I think Blair should be given a medieval trial by ordeal, you know the kind of thing. We throw him off the top of the Canary Wharf tower and if he survives he’s guilty and is executed. If he does not survive he dies without a stain on his character – but a bloody big one on the pavement in Canada Square”
And A.N. Other commenter there responds thus:
“hmmmm sounds interesting, I was gonna go with trial by the tabloid press but yours sounds like it would be much fairer”
She was prepared to “go with trial by the tabloid press” (noteworthy expectation) but she thinks the blogger’s alternative sounds “much fairer”!? Tongue in cheek remark or …
… a window into the mindset of such wierd individuals?
Probably the latter. I’m afraid I have long concluded that many are already expecting the Iraq war Inquiry to be a trial by press opinion, and will be severely disappointed when they do not get a good hanging afterwards. Thus, in order to deter pavement splattering and for reasons of fairness and justice I strongly support this.
If Thorpe’s kind of unbalanced rant disturbs your equilibrium, here’s something more pleasant to look at (according to many of my female readers) …

But the last commenter inside Greenteeth’s gob takes the ‘chips and beer’ devourers to task:
“Hey Ian…
Tony Blair is a person who did want to act and show active support. he is not sitting at home with chips and beer for just critizising others. you critizise…but do you do anything better? Leave him do his job and better search an other person to critizise. he does not deserve it.”
This commenter is clearly not as “green” on politics or Blair as the blogger and most of his friends.
Perhaps there is still hope for blogs and their commenters.

Fantastic work Blair Supporter!
I’ve linked your post to mine here:
I hope Ian doesn’t mind that I’ve used his “bootiful” picture for my piece of art.He can contact me if he would like to have a signed copy *grins
In the end, it’s not about looks here but substance. And the thing is that Ian doesn’t only lack the good looks but also any kind of substance.I was just thinking that he would make a brilliant Daily Mail journo, huh?!

That article over at Greenteeth is a classic example of the good (Tony Blair), the bad (the writing and/or argument) and the ugly (the bashing). Need I say more?

[...] After all, our unbalanced liberal literati, the traditional wellspring of the inspiration behind much of our artistic output, is so fond of telling us that we ‘Brits live in a police state’. They have the right to say what they want in this ‘police state’, rubbish or not, and to incite away. And they do, in their self-obsessed state of semi-political consciousness. No-one arrests, imprisons or charges such halfwits, even when they try this or suggest this. [...]
