LIBERTY MEDAL FOR THE REAL PROTECTOR OF REAL LIBERTIES

Blair: “It is an honor to receive the Liberty Medal.  I am deeply indebted to the National Constitution Center for adding my name to such a distinguished list of recipients. Freedom, liberty and justice are the values by which this medal is struck.”

Reported here at Tony Blair Office website, and a few other places, many of which (going by their cynical coverage of this news and of their record) clearly do not understand liberty.

    They don’t deserve a mention. So I won’t.

‘The National Constitution Center announced today that Tony Blair will receive the 2010 Liberty Medal in recognition of his steadfast commitment to conflict resolution. President Bill Clinton, Chair of the National Constitution Center, will award the prestigious medal to former Prime Minister Blair at a public ceremony on Monday, September 13, 2010 at the National Constitution Center (NCC) on Independence Mall in Historic Philadelphia.

The 2010 Liberty Medal ceremony will kick off a week of events leading up to Constitution Day on Friday 17th September. Tony Blair will be donating the $100,000 prize money that comes with the medal to two of his charities – the Tony Blair Faith Foundation and the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative.

The NCC have decided to award Tony Blair for achievements during and since his time as British Prime Minister. The Center believes that throughout the gruelling negotiation process that preceded the historic Good Friday Accord, he displayed unwavering determination to settle the generations-long conflict. Since leaving government, Tony Blair has continued to facilitate productive dialogue between diverse groups, as Quartet Representative to the Middle East and through the Tony Blair Faith Foundation.

Resopnding [sic] to the news that he would be presenting the award to Tony Blair, President Bill Clinton said:

“It was a privilege to work with my friend Tony Blair to help end 30 years of sectarian violence and broker a lasting peace in Northern Ireland, to stop the killing in and mass exodus from Kosovo, and to develop policies that would improve living conditions for people in both our countries.

“Now, as a private citizen, Tony continues to demonstrate the same leadership, dedication and creativity in promoting economic opportunity in the Middle East and the resolution of conflicts rooted in religion around the world, and is building the capacity of developing nations to govern honestly and effectively. I’m pleased the Constitution Center is awarding him the Liberty Medal in recognition of his work to promote the actions necessary to make peace, reconciliation, and prosperity possible.”

Announcing plans for the presentation of the 2010 Liberty Medal, David Eisner, President and CEO of the National Constitution Center, said:

“Tony Blair has significantly furthered the expansion of freedom, self-governance, equality and peaceful coexistence. This award recognizes both his dedication to and his success in building understanding among nations and creating lasting solutions in areas of conflict.”

Commenting on the news, Tony Blair said:

“It is an honor to receive the Liberty Medal.  I am deeply indebted to the National Constitution Center for adding my name to such a distinguished list of recipients. Freedom, liberty and justice are the values by which this medal is struck.  Freedom, liberty and justice are the values which I try to apply to my work on governance in Africa and on preparing the Palestinians for statehood.  They are the values which drive the work of my faith foundation as we try to show that people of different faiths can live together constructively, in peace and harmony.”

“It is a particular pleasure to receive this award from my great friend and ally President Clinton,” added Mr Blair.

“Bill Clinton’s friendship, counsel and support were so very vital as we worked towards peace in Northern Ireland.  I was proud to stand with President Clinton as we fought to end the genocide in Kosovo.  And I am just as proud to receive this award from him.  I accept it, not as recognition of what has already been achieved, but as a sign that we share an ambition and determination to achieve so much more in the future.”

Governor Edward G. Rendell of Pennsylvania added:

“Tony Blair, both in his time as British Prime Minister and in the work he has done since leaving office, has been one of the world’s most important catalysts for reaching the goals of peace, freedom, and liberty.  He is a worthy recipient of the Liberty Medal”.’

No doubt Chakrabarti would say that Blair ‘s actions for liberty in Afghanistan put him there in the first place.

    A Soldier’s Story

From the American Israel Public Affairs Committee YouTube channel

From Melanie Phillips: Home truths from Planet Wishful Thinking

Reading this at The Spectator last night I thought that Melanie had said much of what I would have said on Tony Blair’s recent interview. I notice how the comments at her post softened as people read and understood more. The finger-counters are now outnumbered by those willing to give Blair a chance.

Quartet Middle East envoy Tony Blair visits the Kerem Shalom goods terminal between Israel and the Gaza Strip, on June 22, 2010. Blair said that he hopes additional easements on the Gaza blockade will be made within the next two weeks and that the gestures will give momentum to the relations between Israel and the Palestinians. (Photo: JACK GUEZ/AFP/Getty Images)

Tony Blair has been quietly consistent in relation to Israel’s security ever since taking up his envoy post. I have been watching and listening to his firm and diplomatic-speak approach. I KNOW that he has been clear and consistent. Good to see others recognising it too.

    Coriander, yes

Excerpt from Blair’s wide-ranging Jerusalem Post interview:

Questioner: How troubled are you, and how troubled should we be, about the demonization and delegitimization of Israel? It does trouble me because I think that the security of Israel is a fundamental part of our security too, in countries like mine.

Blair: The lesson is to take the ground that is always justifiable. And there is ground that is justifiable. That’s why the policy we’ve now articulated on Gaza is a sensible policy. I, as a friend of Israel, can go out and justify this policy. As you put it in your paper, ‘Coriander, yes; Kassams, no.’ I can justify that policy.

What I found hard to justify was ‘Coriander, no.’ There is a constant battle here [against delegitimization] that anyone in Israel is well aware of. That’s why the smart thing is always to be on the ground that you can defend most easily.

1st July, BREAKING: Bethlehem/Gaza – Ma’an – Israel shut down Gaza’s Kerem Shalom crossing on Wednesday over security concerns, an Israeli official confirmed, shortly after Palestinian Authority officials announced previously banned goods would be permitted entry.

Not sure how much credence to lend this, but as I keep saying as though anyone cared – just so you know.

Report: Israel massing planes for attack on Iran in Georgia, Azerbaijan

Could it be that the Iranians are getting paranoid or is this for real?

Israel is massing warplanes in the Caucasus for an attack on Iran, it was revealed yesterday.

Preparations are underway to launch the military attack from Azerbaijan and Georgia, reports our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej, quoting military sources.

Israel was, in fact, training pilots in Turkey to launch the strike and was smuggling planes into Georgia using Turkish airspace, they said.

However, Turkey was unaware of Israel’s intention of transferring the planes to Georgia, the sources said.

The unexpected crisis between Israel and Turkey following an Israeli commando raid on an aid flotilla bound for Gaza Strip hit Israeli calculations.

Azerbaijan-based intelligence units, working under the cover of technicians, trainers and consultants, have helped with the preparations, the sources said.

Military equipment, mostly supplied by the US, was transported to a Georgian port via the Black Sea.

Georgian coastguard and Israeli controllers are co-operating to hide the operations from Russian vessels, said the sources.

By the way, this report also confirms the report of American troops being massed in Azerbaijan (from an Azerbaijani source).  Read the whole thing

    A commenter has this:

When Iran is attacked, Israel will likely be attacked by Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Jordan. Read Psalm 83. Israel will be hit hard as well, especially the north. Read Isaiah 17. 9th of Av is July 19. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

For those who are into religious prophecies Walid Shoebat,  a former Muslim terrorist and the author of  “Why I Left Jihad”, has his take on Psalm 83. Excerpt:

Notice also that this prophecy is future – that the punishment would be forever; it would be at the end of days. So, in reality Psalm 83 has NOT been fully fulfilled; there is another event that must happen in order for it to be fully be fulfilled. Here are my reasons:

“That [men] may know that thou, whose name alone [is] JEHOVAH, [art] the most high over all the earth. ” (Psalm 83:18)

The reason God will allow Israel to be victorious is one reason: to witness with tough love to the Arabs and Muslims. I am one of few who followed this verse, but five-sixths of the future armies will perish and the one-sixth remainder will recognize the God of Israel.

Notice on the clip they took great care to interpret the nations. This is why I love the clip; it’s the first I’ve seen which included TURKEY. Look at it again.

Why did they do that? Simply put, Assyria included Turkey; not only Syria and Iraq. So we have a future showdown with Turkey when Messiah comes.

On Isaiah 17, and its reference to the ‘ruinous heap” of Damascus.

I think Isaiah 17 about Damascus’ disappearance is one of the easiest prophecies to understand and figure out its place in the End Times timeline. It starts:

Isaiah 17:1 — The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

As for 9th Av being the 19th July, well, if you’re into this kind of apocalypse business, best keep away from Damascus and Jerusalem around that date.

    Just so you know.

BREAKING NEWSMARRIOTT CHICAGO CANCELS HIZB UT-TAHRIR EVENT! WELL DONE

Want to know a little more about the One Law for All Campaign? They are campaigners from all religions and none, from all races and backgrounds who are working to uphold English/Welsh and Scottish Law in Britain. Never thought we’d have to CAMPAIGN to protect THE LAW now did you? Presumably you thought that is at least one of the reasons  our parliament exists?

    Our “lawmakers”?

It seems that ain’t necessarily so, folks.

Their peaceful  demo, just over a week ago, was gatecrashed by a pro-Sharia Law group, as I  mentioned here (press failure to notice) and here (police failure to act against Galloway’s murder of 10,000 incitement.)

    new report sharia law

    Just so you know.

I have used the entire One Law for All article with links as posted at their website:

New Report – Sharia Law in Britain: A Threat to One Law for All and Equal Rights

New Report by One Law for All

“Sharia Law in Britain: A Threat to One Law for All and Equal Rights”

    Excerpt:

The One Law for All Campaign was launched on 10 December 2008, International Human Rights Day, to call on the UK Government to recognise that Sharia and religious courts are arbitrary and discriminatory against women and children in particular and that citizenship and human rights are non-negotiable. The Campaign aims to end Sharia and all religious courts on the basis that they work against, and not for, equality and human rights.

The report is being launched to coincide with a 20 June 2010 rally on the issue of Sharia law.

Based on an 8 March 2010 Seminar on Sharia Law, research, interviews, and One Law for All case files, the report has identified a number of problem areas:

    - Sharia law’s civil code is arbitrary and discriminatory against women and children in particular. With the rise in the acceptance of Sharia courts, discrimination is being further institutionalised with some UK law firms additionally offering clients advice on Sharia law and the use of collaborative law.

    - Sharia law is practiced in Britain primarily by Sharia Councils and Muslims Arbitration Tribunals. Both operate on religious principles and are harmful to women although Muslim Arbitration Tribunals are wrongly regarded as being of more concern because they operate as tribunals under the Arbitration Act 1996, making their rulings binding in law.

    - Sharia Councils, on the other hand, claim to mediate on family issues but in practice often this differs little from arbitration: they frequently ask those appearing before them to sign an agreement to abide by their decisions; they call themselves courts, and the presiding imams, judges. Their decisions are then imposed and regarded as having the weight of legal judgements.

    - There is neither control over the appointment of “judges” in Sharia Councils or Tribunals nor an independent mechanism for monitoring them. Clients often do not have access to legal advice and representation. The proceedings are not recorded, nor are there any searchable legal judgements, nor any real right of appeal.

    - Sharia law cannot be compared to secular legal systems because it is considered sacred law that cannot be challenged. There is no scope to look at the interests of the individuals involved, as required by UK family law.

    - These legal processes ignore both common law and due process, far less Human Rights, and provide little protection and safety for women in violent situations.

    - There is a general assumption that those who attend Sharia courts do so voluntarily and that unfair decisions can be challenged in a British court. Many of the principles of Sharia law are contrary to British law and public policy, and would in theory therefore be unlikely to be upheld in a British court. In reality, however, women are often pressured by their families into going to these courts and adhering to unfair decisions, and may lack knowledge of English and their rights under British law. Moreover, refusal to settle a dispute in a Sharia court can give rise to threats and intimidation, or at best being ostracised.

According to Maryam Namazie, spokesperson of the One Law for All Campaign and an author of the report, “The existence of a parallel legal system that is denying a large section of the British population their fundamental human rights is scandalous. Our findings show that it is essential to abolish all religious courts in the UK. Their very existence and legitimisation puts pressure on vulnerable women not to assert their civil rights in a British court. As long as Sharia Councils and Tribunals are allowed to continue to make rulings on issues of family law, women will be pressured into accepting decisions which are prejudicial to them and their children.”

The report recommends that Sharia courts be closed on the grounds that they work against rather than for equality, and are incompatible with human rights. Recommendations include:

    1. initiating a Human Rights challenge to Muslim Arbitration Tribunals and/or Sharia Councils
    2. amending the Arbitration Act under which the Muslim Arbitration Tribunals operate in a similar way to which the Canadian equivalent of the Arbitration Act was amended in 2005 to exclude religious arbitration
    3. launching a major and nationwide helpline and information campaign to inform people of their rights under British law
    4. proposing legislation under the EU Citizens Rights Initiative to address the issue EU-wide, and
    5. strengthening secularism and the separation of religion from the state, the judicial system and education, in order to more fully protect citizenship rights.

Human rights test case call for sharia law

A ‘parallel’ system of justice based on Islamic law should face a test case under the Human Rights Act, a group campaigning against religious laws said this week.

The One Law for All Campaign called for a case to be initiated to determine whether Muslim arbitration tribunals and sharia councils are public authorities under the 1998 act. If found to be so, they would be prohibited from acting in any manner contrary to the European Convention on Human Rights, according to the report Sharia Law in Britain.

The campaign group says the practice of sharia law falls short of accepted standards for the administration of justice.

Campaigners said the benign view that sharia justice in Britain deals only with mundane matters between consenting individuals is mistaken. ‘Sharia law is homophobic, sexist and anti-democratic,’ veteran human rights activist Peter Tatchell alleged.

The report examines the operation of sharia councils, which provide mediation, and Muslim arbitration tribunals, whose findings are binding under the terms of the Arbitration Act 1996: ‘In sharia courts, there is neither control of the appointment of “judges” nor an independent mechanism for monitoring them. People often do not have access to legal advice and representation. The proceedings are not recorded, not are there any searchable legal judgments.’

The report also challenges the argument that sharia justice could free up the Courts Service and provide a cost-effective alternative to litigation. ‘Cuts in costs and expedited justice are likely to bring with them serious miscarriages of justice and human rights abuses,’ it says.

The campaign group calls for an amendment to the Arbitration Act to exclude religious arbitration, and for efforts to inform members of Muslim communities of their rights.

Meanwhile, in the USA, Act for America is gaining strength

And here an article titled ‘Islam Vs Our Laws’ says on Sharia law -

“Further, these laws and procedures are handed down by Allah through the Koran and Hadith. They aren’t just law, they are the law as ordained by god, which means that legal reform is a concept so utterly alien that you likely couldn’t explain it to a lifelong Muslim who had never visited or studied western cultures. The laws do not change; ever. To suggest that any component of Sharia law is in need of reform is tantamount to apostasy, and the punishment for that, by Sharia law, is death. Now, how does one integrate Sharia law with a country like the United states? Short answer, you don’t. To Muslims, there can be no compromise on the issue of Sharia. Being a Muslim and upholding Sharia law are inseparable on a fundamental level. After all, this is the law of god.”

Update: Chicago Marriott has cancelled the Hizb ut-Tahrir event of 11th July, as mentioned here.

Oliver Kamm as well as John Rentoul had a go at the DOCTORS.   Not Dr Who, this time. The Daily Maul’s doctors who are determined to diagnose all that killed Kelly and, given enough of their nasty medicine, will eventually do the same for Blair.

Carefully prescribed medication doled out by both of these fine writers re the Maul’s “damning new evidence”.

And who are the Doctors? Less than a year ago there were 13. Now, according to THE MAUL,  the “group” seems to have shrunk to 5.

“They are radiologist Stephen Frost, trauma surgeon David Halpin, vascular surgeon Martin Birnstingl, epidemiologist Andrew Rouse and internal medicine specialist Christopher Burns-Cox.”

    Imho, these are Kamm’s & Rentoul’s best bits -

    From Kamm:

‘There’s a further issue here, which is about the newspaper industry itself. When a writer such as the Telegraph‘s religious affairs editor, the Rev George Pitcher, ventilates opinions on “what should be the biggest story of the new century”, you know he’s a credulous buffoon with no self-respect. But when the Mail presents these nonsensical calumnies as some sort of journalistic investigation, there are professional ethics to consider. The Editors’ Code of Practice states that the press “must take care not to publish inaccurate, misleading or distorted information” and “whilst free to be partisan, must distinguish clearly between comment, conjecture and fact”. In my opinion, these requirements ought to mean something.’

    And from Rentoul:

‘Still, the article serves one purpose, which is to mention Norman Baker, the Liberal Democrat transport minister and chief Kelly conspiracy theorist, to remind us that he is not fit to be a Member of Parliament, let alone a member of the Government.’

Review & Analysis: ‘Londonistan’ by Melanie Phillips

    28th June, 2010

If you haven’t read Melanie Phillips’ Londonistan, I suggest you do. You can get it here -  Londonistan

It is sub-titled “How Britain has created a terror state within”. You might expect me to agree with its slant since I have been saying much the same thing here for some time. For instance – GO! The Archbishop of Canterbury (April 2010) – The Press Enemy Within (May 2009) -  Courts on Sharia Law (April 2009 – [it WAS  '12' sharia courts, now reportedly over 80. No-one has officially informed us of ANY of these, or deigned to put the policy in  any manifesto.])

    THE FABRIC OF BRITAIN

Londonistan is draw-droppingly painful in places. Yet at the same time there are threads being drawn together into something resembling a familiar fabric. Sadly, it is the fabric of British society today.

I could write a book on every chapter, on almost every page, were life interminable. As it isn’t, I will try to precis the book and concentrate on a few of the points Ms Phillips makes, and urge you again to read it for yourselves.

As well as the Introduction, the Conclusion, an Afterword, and an extra chapter titled “The veil, the cross & a vital debate”, the book’s chapters work through these headings:

The Growth of Londonistan/The Human Rights Jihad/ The Security Debacle/ Multicultural Paralysis/ Alienation of British Muslims/ Scapegoating the Jews/ The Red-Black Alliance/ On Their Knees Before Terror/ The Appeasement of Clerical Fascism.

Each chapter and section links back to sources from many years back to support its positions as well as to recent and current events. It is not hierarchically time-sequenced. Ms Philips recognises and puts over clearly that all of these phases in the story of the Islamisation of Britain were and are interlinked and ongoing. The quotes from many within the Muslim world and within the British establishment are literally breathtaking. I haven’t gasped so much since, well… for some time.

Her book is not just opinion, though it is that too. Through its evidence to named sources, quotations, events, political and societal, church and judicial positioning and laws (some used, some ignored) there is a melding into a cogent and credible account as to WHY we are where we are in Britain [capital city- Londonistan] today.

    LYNCHING BLAIR, OR NOT?

I’ll lay my cards on the table. If Ms Phillips had at any time in her book blamed Tony Blair for the state of Islamisation denial that our country’s in, I’d have put the book down immediately.  I have read enough of such utter tripe to fill its own book. But she has done the opposite; she praises him. For instance, in her Introduction:

“Despite Tony Blair’s brave stand on Iraq and his stern words against Islamist fanaticism, the fact is that the Labour party he leads does not follow him. Despite ministers’ awareness of the extent of Islamist extremism in Britain, the government’s response has been to appease it in the belief that by doing so it will draw the poison and transform Muslims into a model minority. If ministers are pusillanimous their officials are worse. Throughout the intelligence world, there are powerful voices seeking to downplay the influence of Islamist ideology on the London bombers and blame their actions instead largely on the war in Iraq.” (p 31)

In her reference to the Lebanon/Israel conflict of summer 2006, she says:

“Britain had become, in short, a modern version of Salem. Tony Blair was subjected to a political lynching. Labour MPs returned from their summer holidays determined to force him out of office early as punishment for the crime he had committed by refusing to pressure Israel into an almost immediate ceasefire in Lebanon – in other words, surrender to Hezbollah and Iran. The MPs succeeded and Blair was forced to announce his premature departure from office.” (p 311)

I differ from her analysis here only in that I think Gordon Brown and cohorts used widespread press, and thus public disquiet over Israel’s action (of defending itself) against Lebanon. In the same way that the anti-Iraq war press also used Blair’s natural and politically right-minded refusal to leap to criticise Israel to accuse him of subservience to American and Israeli interests.  Old Labourites and Gordon Brown then used this perceived widespread unhappiness as a red herring for change at the top, even though they knew that they would have done the same faced with the facts.  This was an excuse to be rid of Blair and bring in someone who would be ‘less sympathetic to the USA and Israel’, more ‘socialist’ and ‘distanced’ in some way from the war in Iraq, which many of them had never accepted or understood. In the event, they got Brown in a coronation as expected, but unexpectedly no change in foreign policy.

They had swapped a political genius whose instincts were right for a second-rater, whose agenda on anything much was never made clear, except that he wanted the job.

Melanie Phillips’ work is jam-packed with startling arguments supporting her position. Her proposition amounts to this: [My own thoughts inside square brackets.]

    1. JEWISH/AMERICAN CONSPIRACY

    • Almost the entire world has bought into the Jewish conspiracy theory.
    • America is under the control of the Jewish lobby.
    • Tony Blair is under the control of America and Israel.
    • They were and are all out to “get” the Muslim world, its land and resources: neo-colonialism.

    2.  BRITAIN’S LOST SENSE OF IDENTITY, VALUES, ROOTS

    • Guilty over past “imperialism”, and yet bereft of a new purpose, liberal moral relativism, believed to be “progressive”, filled the void.
    • This unrooted morality, personalised and removed from religion, moved from the intelligentsia through the whole of society [with the help of an unhinged and unbalanced press and broadcasters.] Thus, society’s liberal, informed, progressive thinkers in the press, civil service, the political world and even the established Church let loose their grip on care and common sense.

    3. IMMIGRATION UNLIMITED

    • Twenty years ago the need for immigration, with the fond belief that our liberalism was so infectious that all would catch it, fuelled huge increases from the Asian sub-continent. [My thoughts: earlier immigration from the British West Indies and African former colonies had resulted in NO "rivers of blood" contrary to Enoch Powell's prophesy. The reason he was wrong? West Indians and Africans were from Christian roots.]
    • The country’s elite and decision-makers since the 1980s encouraged immigration, as they had done from the 1950s, but this time mainly from a different part of the world. Governments and the security authorities fought hard to preclude civil unrest among the native population by citing the need for such immigrants to do jobs we wouldn’t do, and by reminding highly civilised Britons of their “liberal tolerism” and attachment to inclusivity and democracy.
    • In recent decades “Human Rights” became the cri-de-coeur. No matter what anyone had done or whatever they might threaten to do they were all human and had their rights. [Even the right to feel free to try to take our rights away.]
    • Anyone who raised cultural differences became a pariah. [Racism  deserved an even stronger description. It got it. Racism has been more or less eradicated from Britain, one of the few good side-effects from our acceptance of the "we're all the same under the skin" doctrine. Today, 'racist' is the acceptable jibe to any who question Muslim agendas. This accusation emanates from native, caucasian Brits of the "civilised" kind as well as from any so-called "victimised" Muslims.]

    4. ISLAMIST TERORISM WAS ACCEPTED AS OUR FAULT, NOT THAT OF THE ISLAMIST TERRORISTS

    • For years, even decades, long before 9/11, blind eyes were turned to militant Islamic extremists. They were considered a tiny aberration; not normal. Not average or exemplifying any group. Anyway, they only threatened other countries, not civilised, liberal, tolerant Britain. These fundamentalist extremists realised that if they could wheedle their way into Britain to escape decapitation in their own lands for their crimes, which they could, they’d get a fairer trial here than in any other part of the world, thanks to our civil/human rights sympathetic courts. And they’d likely win on appeal if they lost the first time. In recent years the European Human Rights Courts have all but guaranteed that, especially if the threat to deport meant that the poor souls had to go back to somewhere nasty. Somewhere from whence they had come, purportedly to escape tyranny. [Third time lucky in British/European courts became the expected norm and the attraction. After all, we're all human, aren't we?]
    • The Iraq war added fuel to this fire, and began a press-led campaign against Blair the “war criminal” which continues to this day. [Since the Fourth Estate already "KNEW" that Blair had lied over WMD and the reasons for invading Iraq, HE, personally, was considered responsible for every death in that blighted land. It had escaped their tiny minds that this was a political decision, supported by parliament, not his own one-man expedition to murder. This accusation, despite the fact that Tony Blair's name will go down in history for ending the decades-long conflict in Northern Ireland, the ethnic cleansing of Muslims by Christians in Kosovo, and the barbarity of rebels in Sierra Leone. And despite the fact that even today, when Britain has long left Iraq to the Americans to sort out, suicide car-bombers still kill their own, on average twice a week, in order that we can still blame Blair, Bush and the rest of the west. Personally I hold the press responsible for much of the "thinking" around Iraq, with a few honourable exceptions. Ms Phillips does criticise the BBC for its anti-war bias. [As do I for its constant listing of the names of dead soldiers, with limited counter-balancing as to the value-added that is being loaded onto both Iraq and Afghanistan by the west's presence.]

    5. DESPITE/BECAUSE OF TERRORISM, ISLAMIST PROPAGANDA DOMINATES THE AIRWAVES & THINKING

    • Meanwhile, despite any amount of usually daily Islamist atrocities worldwide, the Muslim world is seen as the victim. [It is innocence personified, or at least understood as having "good reason" to react as it does. I am constantly amazed at how little analysis is ever made as suicide bombers strike. It is as though without western presence, fomenting uncharacteristic outrage, none of these attacks would be happening.]
    • The west is in deep denial, encouraged by the certainties of our opiners in the press. A denial which is leading to its own demise. [And Britain will be leading this demise, unless we understand it and deal with it.]
    • Phillips suggests that the British establishment, wishing to avoid civil unrest, has been terrified into taking the side of violent Islam and all Islam, and have accepted their analysis of where fault lies, because to do that is far less worrying or challenging than understanding or dealing with the truth.

    HIGH DUDGEON

‘Londonistan’ goes on in this analytical vein, at times in high dudgeon, true. It refers to our lack of history teaching in school and the resultant lack of understanding of the force for GOOD that Britain has been and still is worldwide.

If reading this analysis doesn’t get you hyper-ventilating your dudgeon may need recalibrating. Ms Philips’ overall position is that Islamist terrorism IS a religious inspired terror. It is NOT, as we are asked to accept by the inverted arguments of terror perpetrators and their ‘apologists’, terror caused by the West due to its pursuit of Islam. Nor, more worryingly, is terrorism a method only favoured by a very few, as we have been led at times to believe. She uses polls to provide evidence of this.

THE TERROR THAT DARES NOT SPEAK ITS NAME

She insists that although political leaders KNOW that to be the case it is the terror that dares not speak its name. The fear of a clash of cultures or of religions limits open debate. Melanie Phillips says she is agnostic as to whether Islam has been hi-jacked and used and abused or whether it is intrinsically caliphate-led, as described in its scriptures. She frequently states that many British Muslims have no sympathy for terrorists practising their evil acts in the name of Islam.

Her links, quotes and background information on many of those considered “moderate Muslims” and placed in positions of authority by the last Labour government to try to liaise in the community cast light on the reasons for her doubts.

A RELIGION IS THE ROOT CAUSE

Highlighting religious differences has become a big no-no. This has been accepted by most, mainly because of the diminishing interest in any religion in Britain over the last 20 or 30 years. It became the normal thing never to mention anyone as being in any way different from you. After all, we had subsumed Judaism and were managing to knock along quite tidily with Sikhs and Buddhists, with no outbreak of hatred from any side. Why should Muslims be any different?

    IRAQ

The other area which has added to this immoral morality in recent years is the Iraq war decision. We know it was a controversial decision, as does Mr Blair and the Labour party. But it was nothing like as unpopular a decision as we are led to believe. Online, you’d be forgiven for believing no-one but no-one agreed with the decision, or has a mind that can be moved by argument. We all KNOW, don’t we?

For any of us online it takes little searching to find out for sure and for certain that Tony Blair is a “war criminal” for whom hanging is too good. That kind of comment, for it is invariably comment at such as the Guardian CIF pages and at coarse-mouthed ignorant blogs, should tell the ‘civilised’ among us something about these people and their stance.

I have long believed that many if not most of them are terror sympathisers, infiltrating our chat pages with aliases like Fred, Sheffield. I do not believe that they are mostly Freds, though some of them undoubtedly are. Fred in Sheffield was never brought up to talk of killing politicians, after he’d skinned them alive and eviscerated them. That is the language of a violent culture, not ours.  Not Britain’s.

Unlike Ms Phillips, and perhaps I live in a more British part of the country and not in Londonistan any more, I do not accept that we are a decadent society. Most people in this country would be appalled and dismayed at what can be read on the internet.

    DON’T IGNORE THIS BOOK

To ignore all she is saying because you conclude despite the evidence that Britain is not being quietly overrun by a foreign culture and religion whose strictures include severe punishments for women, juveniles, adulterers and homosexuals as well as thieves and greater or lesser criminals, is to deny that this country bears ANY responsiblity for the future we hand on to the next generation.

There are a few areas which, although mentioned, are not looked at in as much depth as I’d have liked. For instance, the reasons for our unwillingness to criticise Islam, while we criticise Christianity and Judaism at the drop of a liberal-minded self-deprecating hat;  our inability to question how free ‘free speech’ is or should be. More free for some than for others, it would seem.  Our real willingness or even ability to understand the political reasons for the Iraq invasion: it was political, not because Blair wanted a good job after Number 10!

I believe at least some of this may be looked at more deeply in her latest book – “The World Turned Upside Down”.

George Galloway threatens the British (56 seconds)

    Retitled -

George Galloway threatens “10,000 dead bodies”

[UPDATE: With reference to my next paragraph, found it uploaded again.]

But don’t panic! Just as I was about to publish this I noticed that the video has now been removed “due to a copyright claim by Adrian Cousins.” So WHO is Mr Cousins? The one who thinks it was fine to upload this and title it “George Galloway threatens the British”? Who is this fool? There is an Adrian Cousins at Facebook - linking to CounterFire. (This is the Counterfire website.) Although Mr Cousins has decided his video with Galloway calling for Death to 10,000 should no longer be viewable, he kindly allows viewers to see this one here.

The “Galloway Exposed” youtube channel still has the DEATH to 10,000 video. Download it if you can, just in case this upload is removed.

Click to read about the NUT banner

Whether Galloway’s “dead bodies” are supposed to be those of non-Muslims or Muslims is immaterial. Galloway is threatening the deaths of thousands on the streets of London. This man, insane or not, is inciting racial hatred AND, by his reference to hijabs and beards, religious hatred.

I have news for him and his cronies.

We have laws against that. That’s what comes of living in a law-abiding state.

The name at the top left of this video is Counterfire.org Check out who contributes to this site.

The last think I am ever likely to do – well no, the last thing would be to stand or fall for freedom and democracy – but almost the last thing, would be to vote for the BNP.  I am no racist.

But an incoming link from a BNP supporting site brought this to my attention.  I know some will criticise even mentioning or linking to such a site. But falling for the divide-and-rule policy of some has its limits, imho. And this video is the limit.

This video is very, VERY important.

    George Galloway says (my bolding):

“And lastly to the EDL [English Democracy League], take a look around you,  boys. Take a look around you at this crowd.  If you dare touch a hijab on a Muslim woman’s head[cheers and increasing voluminous bellows from the ranters] - if you dare  – if you dare – if you dare turn(?) a hair on the beard of a Muslim man in Tower Hamlets [more cheers from the half-insane ranters]you will have to fight your way through 10,000 dead bodies first. Thank you very much indeed [more cheers from GG's roused associates and presumably would-be fellow murderers] ??? – [indiscernible, but does not sound like English.]

Pardon, Galloway? 10,000 dead bodies? Whose?

The other speaker then says -

“This is why I believe that we should be brave enough to come and I said to you before that it’s not up to the police to decide when we march, where we march and how we march – [indiscernible]

Sorry, mate! IT IS UP TO THE POLICE. Get that into your thick skull or get out of this country and rant your insurrection where it’s treated as it deserves to be – Iran, for instance.

    The Islamic Repubic of Iran

See here (journalist against the Iranian state) and here – (criminals hanged) and here – (hanged for being gay), and here – (hanged for killing her husband after years of abuse). (22 year-old Delara Darabi was executed, May 2009 by Iran and for a crime it is said she didn’t commit.

She confessed to this crime only to protect her boyfriend, both believing she would not be convicted because at 17  she would have been under age. WHY did they assume that? Iran, above all other so-called democratically elected, so-called governments in this world, has a long, disgraceful record of hanging children for “offences”.

This, THIS is what Galloway clearly thinks is quite the thing.

WHERE AT THE G.G. RALLY WERE ALL THE OTHER RACES CELEBRATING THE ‘DIVERSITY’ IN OUR COUNTRY?

The video at the top opens for only an instant on the profile of a caucasian man. Apart from Galloway, his is the only white face you are likely to spot in this group; the rest are Asian.  Is that man content to be associated with this crowd of extremists, screaming for the MURDER of his own countrymen? Compare this to the video of the One Vote For All gathering on the same day here:

    NUT BANNER FOR SHARIA LAW

In the top video here (go and have another quick reminder) at 0.07 seconds into the 56 second video NOTE the NUT banner.

The NUT is the National Union of Teachers. Of TEACHERS!!! I used to be a member of that organisation, FGS! And now it is flying the flag of those in favour of Sharia Law. Those whose British-born spokesman threatens to kill “10,000″ British citizens.

    THESE ARE FOREIGN-ALIGNED ISLAMIST FUNDAMENTALISTS

They have no place in a free society. Except behind bars.

The poster in the background “Celebrate Our Diversity” is a fig-leaf for Islamist fundamentalist separatism. This is NOT celebrating. This is incitement to kill. CLEARLY. There can be no argument.

What are the Police going to do about Galloway and his ranting? I suggest -

LOCK HIM UP. LOCK HIM UP, GOOD AND  LONG.  TEN YEARS MIGHT JUST CALM HIM DOWN.

His associate in this video should also be charged with insurrection and incitement. He is of the opinion that they do not have to listen to the Police. They do have to listen. As did the One Law For All group on this very day. As did the EDL on that very day – and were arrested, seemingly, for just turning up. My understanding is that in order to demonstrate any group needs to apply for permission to the Police a week or more in advance of the event. If I am right, why were Galloway’s group of Sharia Law fans fanatics permitted to crash the One Law For All  (perfectly peaceful) campaign, MILES away from THIS lot’s original east-end demo?

    WHY?

One Law For All: Shariah – Muslims Against Crusades

‘Muslims Against Crusades’? What crusades? If there had ever been a ‘crusade’ in recent years, and some might say there should have been, this lot would be no more. This is from this group’s channel Call 2 Islam. Peaceful-looking bunch, aren’t they?

Since the EDL people who turned up at One Law for All’s demo arrived uninvited they were bundled into Police vans because they ‘didn’t have a permit to demonstrate’.

    MY QUESTION AGAIN:

Did the pro-Sharia law group, those who turned up to counter the legal and permitted ‘One Law for ALL’ group have a permit? It certainly looks as though they, who had earlier demonstrated with Galloway in East London presumably then under police permit,  turned up opposite Downing Street regardless of this little nicety. If they did not have a permit, WHY were they not arrested too?

DOES ’10,000′ (MUSLIMS) SOUND FAMILIAR TO YOU?

If so, you’re right. These people seem to have a thing about the number 10,000. Is it in the koran? A version of feeding the 5,000 -  killing the 10,000?

Do you remember this idiot – Lord Ahmed?

He it was who threatened to “mobilise ten thousand Muslims” if Geert Wilders was allowed into Britain. The government succumbed to the threat.  They clamped down on free speech (as long as it came from those who love and support FREE speech!) and prevented Wilders from entering Britain.  Since then Wilders has been highly successful in the Dutch general election. But don’t let that worry you, little jihadist caliphaters, he is also standing trial for inciting against the inciters!! (Trial to resume in October 2010).

    What a stupid, crazily upside-down, self-destructive world.

Quote from Cranmer here: “Lord Ahmed is not functioning as a Labour peer; he is the self-appointed khalifa of all things Islamic. He is not concerned to protect freedom of expression or freedom of speech, but to stifle debate and ensure that Parliament submits to the Dar Al-Islam.”

He and TEN thousand others, it would seem.

More from this site on the pleasant individual “Lord” Ahmed:

You can report Galloway online to the MET Police here

Of course we know the Police and the government already know all about last Sunday’s disgraceful events opposite Downing Street. How could they not?  But for some reason -  fear of civil unrest -  they prefer to be intimidated.

What will the new government the ConDems do about them? CONDEMN them? Yeah, right.

A REMINDER FOR THE CON/DEM GOVERNMENT (in case Cameron & Clegg failed to notice, like the press)

Last week I reported on the One Vote For All march in Whitehall – Sharia Law – One Law For ALL demo hi-jacked. Press fail to notice. I mentioned there that this demo had been hijacked by a group of Muslims who just happened to be demonstrating in another part of London earlier in the day. I mentioned then that this second group then crashed the One Vote for All Campaign march which had been, and remained despite screeching, ranting provocation from mad Islamists, perfectly peaceful.

The press did not cover any of this, not even the peaceful side (One Law For All)

    REPORTING CRIME TO THE MET

Crimes can be reported ONLINE here. It took a little bit of digging to find this page, and for a while I wondered if this facility had been deleted.  Telephone numbers are also provided.  Go here to see the numbers you can ring.

At the MET’S ‘Reporting Crime’ page are provided the usual 999 number if a crime is happening “NOW”. It also says this:

    Non-emergency contact number

If you wish to contact the Metropolitan Police Service and it is not an emergency please call 0300 123 1212.

It then links to this information on the non-emergency contact number -

“Unless it’s an emergency, call the Metropolitan Police Service on 0300 123 1212.

You now only need to know two numbers to contact the Metropolitan Police:

In an emergency always call 999

An emergency is when a crime is happening, someone suspected of a crime is nearby, someone is injured, being threatened or in danger.”

So, let us get this clear, please. Just for those of us who want to inform the Police.

Is it an emergency or a non-emergency when George Galloway threatens death to 10,000?

Your guess, like the Police’s and the present government’s, is as good as mine. Just do it this way – online -

Report Galloway online to the MET Police here

You might also find this interesting -

At ‘MET POLICE CAREERS’ Martin Tiplady, Director of Human Resources apologises for the new (ConDem government?) policy.

“Two to three years” he says,  before new police officers can be recruited.  What? Is that David Cameron’s way of protecting the public from the rabid?
