Why slit the throats of a sleeping Israeli family of 5, including a month-old baby?

More below that will make your blood run even colder.

There’s a site called Bare Naked Islam. It is single-minded in its niche;  single-mindedly anti-Islam. And it makes no bones about it – it is anti-Muslim too.

Some might take exception to such a site, or even to my linking to it.  Tough. While the British liberal press seems to ignore these sorts of stories for fear of upsetting good, honest, law-abiding Muslims, and while they continue to hunt down Tony Blair as though he is the world’s most wanted escaped criminal, I will find room for the stories at Bare Naked Islam.

    http://barenakedislam.wordpress.com/2011/03/12/palestinian-vermin-stab-to-death-5-israeli-family-members-including-3-children-in-their-sleep/

This site often uses colourful language, but it invariably links back to reputable sources. This story links to Debkafile.

But this is only the start.

DEBKAfile: Muslim Brotherhood from Britain part of secret plan to stir up Palestinian uprising

Debkafile expands on this story with an exclusive -  Hamas ordered five Israelis murdered following secret Islamist Khartoum parley. Article from Debka below in full.

If you are British you might wish to jump to this indented and emboldened paragraph. Note the only western country named as in attendance, breathe deeply and jump back here.

    DEBKAfile article:

Hamas websites quickly hailed the murder of a mother, father and three of their children, aged, 11, three and a baby of a month, whose throats were slashed in their sleep at Itamar, south of Nablus Friday night, March 11 as “a heroic operation.” The escape of at least two Palestinian killers long before the alarm was sounded after midnight was eased by the dismantling of most Israeli security checkpoints on the West Bank and slow military vigilance.

debkafile’s intelligence and counter-terror sources disclose that the Itamar attack was the first result of an Iran-funded secret conference in Khartoum last week of the heads of the national branches of the Muslim Brotherhood across the Arab world, at which a plan was charted for Hamas to launch a multi-casualty terrorist assaults against Israel on both sides of the Green Line – over and above missile attacks from the Gaza Strip in order to ignite the third Palestinian uprising (intifada). The Egyptian Brotherhood is the parent organization of Hamas.

This decision was a facet of a comprehensive plan drawn up in Khartoum for Brotherhood activists to fire up the uprisings in the various Arab countries. With Iranian backing and funding, the different branches resolved to coordinate operations for using the unrest to take control of Arab capitals.

Iranian intelligence officers attending the conference used the occasion to set up direct contacts with Brotherhood leaders who came from Egypt, Iraq, Tunisia, Syria, Jordan, Great Britain. The Palestinian delegation representing Hamas-Gaza was headed by Mahmoud A-Zahar and Hamas-Damascus headed by Khaled Meshaal.

Back to start of Debkafile report

    Article continued…

The plan for Hamas to revive terrorist on the West Bank and inside Israel was an important part of the Iranian-backed resolutions reached at the Khartoum conference.

debkafile notes that not a single Arab government – not even Israel – prevented the Brotherhood and Hamas delegates from setting out for Khartoum.  No word of the conference was allowed to leak to the Israeli public and Israeli security authorities appear not to have adapted their practices to the decisions reached by the Islamists there.

This could explain why there was no prior terror alert for the Itamar killings or apparent IDF redeployment for an upsurge of multiple terrorist murders even though Hamas networks had been known to be regrouping in Judea and Samaria for the purpose of attacking and kidnapping Israelis on both sides of the Green Line. Several Palestinians were recently detained at the few remaining West Bank checkpoints carrying pipe bombs, knives and fire bombs.

Despite appeals from West Bank Israeli community leaders, the military did not recommend putting any of the checkpoints back – even though the Palestinian Authority’s security services had slowed down their counter-terror cooperation and intelligence-sharing with Israel, therefore failing to keep their side of the bargain for the removal of the checkpoints.

For more than a year, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak acceded to relentless US and European pressure to grant West Bank Palestinians almost unrestricted freedom of movement and generous aid for their economic development as a means of persuading PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas to return to the negotiating table. This policy failed in its purpose while leaving Israelis vulnerable once again to terrorist attacks.  None of these alarming developments were brought to public notice in Israel. Jerusalem is still trying to pretend that Egypt remains faithful to its 1979 peace treaty, whereas nothing of those relations appears to have survived the fall of Hosni Mubarak.

Will The Guardian report this or the pictures of celebration in GAZA after the helpless baby and its family were killed so ruthlessly? CIFWatch doesn’t think so. And IsraellyCool has this video of children praising their aunt who is in prison after  transporting a suicide bomber to his destination:

No wonder youngsters grow up to be killers:

(Note the first comment at the YouTube site. Same old story – poor victimised Muslims. The Israelis made them like this. They clearly lack power over their own actions.)

    __________

This is part of Bare Naked Islam’s take on the original story.

Thanks to pressure from the Obama Regime to give Palestinians unrestricted movement, at least two Palestinians armed with knives slashed the throats of a mother, father and three children, aged, 11, 3, and a 1-month-old baby in their sleep early Saturday in the West Bank. HAMAS hails it as “heroic.”

DEBKA –Two other small children were not attacked. Their sister aged 12 found them when she returned home at 12:30 and called for help. Magen David Adom paramedics could only confirm the five deaths. The Muslim scum had broken through the electronic fence guarding the settlement without setting off an alarm.

Military and police units fanned out to hunt the perpetrators and set up checkpoints. Hamas websites hailed the murder as a “heroic operation,” without taking responsibility.

DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources report: There were no terror alerts prior to the attack although Hamas networks had been known to be regrouping in Judea and Samaria for the purpose of attacking and kidnapping Israelis on both sides of the Green Line.

Several Palestinians were recently detained at the few remaining West Bank checkposts carrying pipe bombs, knives and fire bombs. Nonetheless the military did not recommend putting any of the checkposts back even though the Palestinian Authority’s security services had slowed down their counter-terror cooperation with Israel, therefore failing to keep their side of the bargain for the removal of the checkposts.

Israel’s government military policy makers have refrained from redeploying the Israeli military to compensate for declining the Palestinian Authority’s counter terror activity, which has been a concomitant of the rising unrest in the Arab world, especially in Egypt. Israeli queries on this to the Americans and British officers running the Palestinian security services have gone unanswered.

Because Palestinian traffic between Nablus in the north and Hebron in the south is to all intents and purposes unmonitored, the Israeli military is forced to fall back on intelligence informants as its only tool for preventing terrorist attacks. The result was seen tragically in Itamar Saturday morning.

THE ATTACK was the first result of an Iran-funded secret conference in Khartoum last week of the heads of the national branches of the Muslim Brotherhood across the Arab world, at which a plan was charted for Hamas to launch a multi-casualty terrorist assaults against Israel on both sides of the Green Line – over and above missile attacks from the Gaza Strip in order to ignite the third Palestinian uprising (intifada). The Muslim Brotherhood is the parent organization of Hamas.

So, no apologies from me for using BNI.

But if you wonder what quiet little Iran, Hamas and your friendly neighbourhood Muslim Brotherhood are all up to while Japan suffers at nature’s hands and Libyans die at Gaddafi’s hands, perhaps you now know.

First, to get it over with, the tale of HATE.

This former Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate KILLED his own family cat

Michael Dixon was a parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Democrats. He was also a member of his party's anti-crime group. He mercilessly and cruelly killed the family cat for scratching his grandson.

A gentle, balanced, war-and-violence-hating, Liberal Democrat. Makes you proud, eh, Mr Clegg?

    Article:

A FORMER parliamentary candidate from Kidderminster was locked up for bludgeoning the family cat to death with a walking stick in a fit of rage.

Michael Dixon was sentenced to four months in prison with a lifetime ban on keeping animals, after he lost his temper and battered the pet, leaving her to die in a pool of blood, before calmly telling his family: “I’ve killed the cat.”

The horrific attack happened at the former LibDem candidate’s home in Warbler Place on May 14 last year, after five-year-old Tipsy scratched his grandson.

The 53-year-old who was once a member of the LibDem Police and Crime Working Group was with family including his wife Pam Dixon, their daughter-in-law Sally Dixon and her four-year-old son.

Nick Sutton, prosecuting for the RSPCA, read a witness account from Sally Dixon at Kidderminster Magistrates Court. It described how Mr Dixon chased the pet upstairs shouting “I’m going to kill the cat.”

Sally said: “I noticed he had a walking stick in his hand. I thought it was to coax the cat out.”

Her mother-in-law followed screaming “No Mike no” at the top of her voice.

They heard banging before Mr Dixon returned to the lounge, looking calm and spaced out and said in a matter-of-fact way: “I’ve killed the cat.”

His wife ran upstairs and became hysterical. Sally said: “I heard screaming like I have never heard before and I knew it must be true.”

The women found the black and white cat lying on her side in a pool of blood, still moving, with the walking stick leaning against the wall. After struggling for her last breath Tipsy died.

Vet Darren Jennings who examined Tipsy found her skull shattered into 10 pieces, with 20ml of blood in her stomach.

He said: “There is no doubt this cat suffered serious pain and distress from the attack. Death was not instantaneous.”

Mr Sutton said the scratch on the boy’s leg was consistent with a cat in play and did not even require a plaster.

Defence solicitor Fergus Maxwell described Mr Dixon as a professional, family man of exemplary character who had a history of community activity including campaigning against the closure of Kidderminster Hospital.

He said his client used the walking stick so that “he would be able to dispatch the cat very quickly. His intention was not to cause this cat unnecessary and protracted suffering.”

When sentencing, magistrates chairman Brian McCluskie said: “Mr Dixon this was a prolonged and awful attack on an animal – the result of your inability to keep your temper that resulted in the family pet being blugeoned to death. The pet did not die quickly. You caused a death too horrific to contemplate.”

Mr Dixon hung his head as he heard his conviction before he was handcuffed and led away.

RSPCA inspector Steve Morall who worked on the case said: “This was a callous, brutal attack and we are pleased that the court has sent a clear message to Mr Dixon.”

Mr Sutton said: “The decision to bring Mr Dixon before the court was based not only on his admission he had killed his family cat but the strength of independent and veterinary evidence of the suffering this act of cruelty caused.”

    _____

I don’t know how old is the grandson of this excuse for a human being, but if he is more than about two, I hope Dixon realises the child will feel it is HIS fault that their cat is now dead.

UPDATE: Just noticed- presumably the child is 4. So that’s an indelible mark on his memory. Well done, Grandad.

An appalling incident. We Brits love our pets more, FAR more than we love our politicians.

Dog dies of broken heart after his soldier master killed by the Taliban

Telegraph: article and video of repatriation of IED-disabler soldier and dog from Afghanistan

Hundreds of mourners lined the main street through the Wiltshire town to honour Lance Corporal Liam Tasker, of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, who was shot while on patrol in Helmand province, Afghanistan on March 1.

The crowds were swelled by family pets and a dozen police and Prison Service dogs at the repatriation ceremony for the 26-year-old soldier, whose dog Theo died from a seizure three hours after his master was killed.

L/Cpl Tasker’s family said they believe the dog died from a broken heart.

The body of L/Cpl Tasker, from Kirkcaldy, Fife, and the ashes of Theo had earlier been flown back to RAF Lyneham in the same aircraft.

L/Cpl Tasker was the subject of the repatriation ceremony but Theo’s ashes will be presented in private to his family.

The contrast could hardly be more stark.

RIP Lance Corporal Tasker, Theo and Tipsy.

UPDATE: 2 Nimrod spy planes NOW safe in Cameron’s hands for another 3 months! So, what happened Mr Prime Minister? Events?

Late this afternoon, with an eye on the Brussels meetings of NATO  and the EU today and tomorrow, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi announced that the time has come for “full-scale military action” against the rebels in Libya. Promising that his father’s regime will never, ever surrender he again said “We fight here in Libya. We die here in Libya.” Video and report here at the BBC.

Saying that the Libyan people will never ever welcome NATO or the Americans he said “Libya is not a piece of cake”.

Meanwhile Hillary Clinton warned that Gaddafi’s government was still in possession of “chemical weapons”. Elaborated here.

    Excerpt:

Clinton said U.S. planners remained concerned that Gaddafi, who under U.S. pressure agreed in 2003 to abandon his weapons of mass destruction, still had some capacity.

“He still does, as you probably know, have some remaining chemical weapons and some other nasty stuff that we’re concerned about,” Clinton said.

If he does still have chemical weapons that is not, before you start accusing, the fault of Tony Blair. The USA took all responsibility for dismantling Gaddafi’s nuclear arsenal.

The Rolling Stone has this -

Libya today reportedly possesses 9.5 metric tons of mustard gas and 1,000 metric tons of yellowcake uranium — the raw material for an atomic bomb.

This website also takes a sideswipe at Bush’s claim over Iraq’s WMD. Tell you what Mr Tim Dickinson – let’s call Gaddafi’s bluff.  Let’s just ignore him and see if he REALLY has WMD. And then when he poisons North Africa, the Middle East and half of Europe let’s blame someone else.

Referring to Saif’s latest outburst a top US intelligence officer opined at the LA Times -

WASHINGTON — Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi is unlikely to be ousted by rebels, the top U.S. intelligence officer has told a congressional committee, and the United States must contemplate the national-security implications of a Kadafi victory — or even a stalemate.

Libya could end up split into two or three parts, James Clapper, the director of national intelligence, said Thursday, or “you could end up with a Somalia-like situation.”

Because of its superior weapons and logistical capabilities, “I think over time, over the longer term, that the regime will prevail,” Clapper said at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing. Kadafi has units, equipped with tanks and artillery, that have the ability to maintain and replenish their weapons over time, Clapper said.

But some US senators, including presidential candidate John McCain are urging more action from the USA:

In Washington, neither the potential for a stalemate nor a Kadafi victory sat well with Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), who argued the Obama administration should do more to help the rebels, including a no-fly zone, to prevent Kadafi from retaining power.

William Hague said in response to Gaddafi’s son’s statement that Saif sounds as though he is declaring war on his own people. The British Foreign Secretary also said that the case for a no-fly zone (no agreement in Brussels today) would be massively strengthened if Muammar Gaddafi launched a full-scale attack against his people.

Here at SkyNews live you’ll find the latest from Libya, including the breaking news that demonstrator have been shot at by the authorities in Saudi Arabia (also reported at Washington Post). I have to say I have found Sky’s coverage on the Middle East turmoil far better than that of the BBC.

    10th March 2011,

BREAKING NEWS: NATO says “maritime presence” to be increased in Mediterranean; increased sanctions; strengthened embargoes; NOTHING on no-fly zone – “further planning required”!

WILL NATO ACT AGAINST GADDAFI WITHOUT A UN RESOLUTION?

If the idea of NATO intervention in Libya rings bells with you it may be that you recall the words of Saif Gaddafi a few weeks ago. He said that Tony Blair had warned his father that NATO might act against him. (I wrote about this here)

Nothing much was said about the “NATO” reference, true or not, in our press at the time, though Tony Blair did follow up with an interview in Jerusalem on February 28th with The Times’s Philip Webster regarding his telephone calls to Colonel Gaddafi.  He was not asked about the question of NATO.

Today it is reported that NATO is considering a no-fly zone without a UN resolution. Personally, I’m not holding my breath. A no-fly zone is an act of war, and without a UN resolution it simply will not happen. The world does not have the stomach  to face down dictators after Iraq. Even if the world agreed on what constitutes a “dictator”. And we know by reading British and other western papers, commenters and bloggers that it doesn’t.

The question as to a re-alignment of the world’s power bases is still worth investigating. Today EU Foreign ministers meet in Brussels. Tomorrow EU leaders will convene.  Alongside NATO representatives will discuss alternatives. Clearly the US wants NATO to take the lead over Libya.  Quite how this is meant to absolve Obama’s USA of being the leading force escapes me. The USA is also a member of NATO. With the state of the British armed forces, after the coalition government’s pre-emptive and now largely discredited strike against naval and air forces the USA would still input the main part of  capacity into any military action.

DIPLOMACY FIRST – CIVIL WAR NEXT – RESCUED REPUTATIONS LAST

The idea is to try to hammer out diplomatic initiatives which combined may rid Libya of its dictator and help to usher in peace (and democracy) in that land. In my opinion there is little chance, very little chance of a no-fly zone being agreed after the meetings of today and tomorrow.  Even though at least one rebel leader is calling for intervention by the west.

Are NATO and the EU poised to take the burden of the World’s Policeman from the USA’s embattled and war-weary shoulders? There are 28 members of NATO, details here. I do hate to be a spoilsport, but there is at least one NATO member (clue – starts with “T”) that I wouldn’t trust under its current leadership as far as I could throw it.

There are 192 members of the UN. As any of us who have ever sat in on committees knows, the fewer the more likely that big decisions can be made. Already today Russia (not a full member of NATO) has said it would be “unacceptable” to intervene militarily in Libya. Since Russia is a full UN member, that’s the end of that, then.

What a pity the world was not up to accepting the Blair Doctrine of the International Community, 1999, Chicago (Number 10 website).  It might have stiffened the UN’s backbone to deal with tyrants. See also  Blair Doctrine of Humanitarian/Liberal Interventionism of 1999.

Tony Blair, Times interview, 28th Feb:

“There is now one major strategic objective and the rest is a question of tactical decisions. The strategic objective is that there is a change in leadership in Libya with the minimum further bloodshed. Far too many people have died; there has been far too much violence.
“One of the reasons I have not been speaking about this is that I wanted to be acting rather than speaking and talking to a lot of people in this region.”

I understand entirely why Hillary Clinton says any no-fly zone must not be US-led (video, Sky News) but must be supported by the international community. Her administration, and especially Obama himself, the “Not GW Bush man” (until he is forced to face reality such as over Guantanamo) do not want to be marked men and women charged with pursuing so-called western post-colonialism. They can also live without “war criminal” tags round their necks.

And so the world is cowed into impotence, playing Good Mummy and not Tough Daddy.

But how likely is the necessary support from the international community?

For a start there are two countries which invariably kibosh multinational action (best argued in Tony Blair’s Doctrine of Humanitarian Interventionism). These nations kibosh not because they are more principled than the rest, fear deaths of Libyans on the streets, or are great mates of Gaddafi. There is one reason that they run scared of this sort of global action: they do not wish to set a precedent that may in future be used against them. These countries are RUSSIA and CHINA

    THE WRONG LESSONS FROM IRAQ?

These two countries, allied with FRANCE in 2003 and for their own internal reasons a few of their allies, stopped the UN Security Council from gaining a second resolution to remove Saddam. The end result was that Bush, Blair and a few others fell back on an earlier resolution providing authority to invade. The sufficiency of that earlier resolution is what feeds the “illegal war” arguments still ongoing.

Aside: We are led to believe from the anti-war side that if there had been a second resolution Bush and Blair would not be labelled “war criminals”. That is utter nonsense, and the accusers know it. The Hague would still be the preferred destination for Bush and Blair in such minds, regardless of a second, third or ninety-ninth resolution at the UN.

As for Libya there can be little doubt that members of the so-called ‘international community’ are beavering away in efforts to work out a way which will not bring the curse of the world down on the heads of those with the desire to see an end to Gaddafi’s reign and the killing of his own people.

But does such an international community actually exist?

There have been numerous occasions when Russia and China, two countries with abominable human rights records, and yet two countries of high importance politically, strategically, and even economically to the rest of the world, have put the lid on intervention. Seldom do the anti-Iraq war, anti-west, anti-Blair yellers and screamers criticise Russia and China for their humanitarian efforts or rather lack of, so fixed are their narrow eyes on Blair’s “millions”.

The US Ambassador to Libya Gene Cretz has recently been in Rome and Cairo for multiple meetings both with the Italian Government officials, Egyptian Government officials, but also with opposition figures within Libya to gain a greater understanding and perspective on what’s happening. On 4th March Libyan Foreign Minister Musa Kusa also spoke with US Assistant Secretary Jeff Feltman by telephone.

Humanitarian aid, it seems is all set and ready to move into Libya.

    Excerpt:

“A United Nations relief team is ready to enter Libya to assess the situation as fighting between rebels and government forces has resulted in large humanitarian needs, a UN spokesman said Tuesday.

The team, with an unspecified number of members, is now waiting for Tripoli’s approval to enter the troubled country. Libyan Foreign Minister Musa Kusa has already agreed on the UN relief assessment with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, said Martin Nesirky at UN headquarters in New York.

The UN undersecretary general for political affairs, B Lynn Pascoe, told reporters that the UN was ready to go into Libya ‘any time’ to assist people in need.

‘The humanitarian situation is a huge concern for all of us,’ said Pascoe, after briefing the Security Council in a closed-door session.

He said council members discussed issues, including the possible use of a no-fly zone to deter the use of airstrikes against rebel- held areas and the humanitarian situation.

Ban discussed the situation in Libya in a telephone call with Kusa on Sunday, demanding an immediate stop to the violence and indiscriminate targeting of civilians and the dispatching of a humanitarian fact-finding mission, Nesirky said.

Nesirky said the newly appointed UN special envoy for Libya, former Jordanian foreign minister Abdelilah al-Khatib, is scheduled to meet with Ban in New York on Friday and not Wednesday as previously planned.”

Quite why it can wait till Friday is anyone’s guess. But the international community moves slowly and with its own various agendas, you can be sure of that.

The UN website could be any old hand-wringing domain. Just take a look at its main page. With the world watching Gaddafi’s attacks on his own people we might expect a front page news item on this. But no, it leads with a video on International Women’s Day. Now, believe you me, I have as much empathy with women’s position in the world  as any of us.  But surely we might have expected at least a link to Ban ki-moon’s thoughts on the ongoing situation in Libya? Instead what we get are these links -

The mention of Libya is to do with violence against sub-Saharan migrants. Not concerning the shooting down of Libyan men women and children in Libya’s cities.

Even on its Focus on the Middle East page, the UN website only has this news release on humanitarian issues in Libya.

Until the UN alters its reactionary position to one of proaction the world can be forgiven for seeing it for what it clearly is – impotent and toothless.

    RELATED

To intervene or not to intervene – “Anne Applebaum’s Libyan mirage”. I’m with Charles Krauthammer on this.

But, until the UN sorts itself out, Middle East countries, the Arab League and African Union all stop fence-sitting, and China & Russia start thinking about people and not their own power, I suggest we leave the Libyans to sort themselves out.

    Surprised?

I want no more western leaders threatened with one of these round their necks by those who proclaim to care about people but in fact do precisely nothing to help those people.

This is what happens to those who believe in humanitarian intervention. Be warned.

    Just so you know -

“Amidst the revolutions in the Muslim World, Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain addresses the Ummah in remembrance of the destruction of the Khilafah on the 3rd March 1924, looking forward that we will soon return the Khilafah and create the Real Change the Ummah is calling for.”

“We want to remove the systems which they left behind in our lands.”

The comment there right now says:

“It will come back inshallah! Khilafah is the only way to end oppression and not the flawed man-made ideology called “democracy” that only divides people into groups of ruling and opposition. We have no groups fighting against each other for power. We have a more unibody concept which is more integrated. One pious ruler taking care of all nations. Resolving our differences in the light of Quran and Sahih Hadith and spreading the message in every corner of world! Yes we want it and we’ll get it!”

The speaker in front of Britain’s monument to our war dead, those who fell for freedom and democracy, may not verbalise honestly (taqiyah [lying] is required in Islam for Allah’s sake) that the Khilafah (Caliphate) is intended for the entire world, not just Islamic states, but believe me it is.

    Egypt: The Caliphate’s a’comin’

Excerpt: “The caliphate will oppress the populations of the entire Middle Eastern world and subjugate free countries like Spain, France and the United Kingdom. The entire world will be enslaved under strict Islamic law and the rule of the caliph.”

    _____

Caliph – the civil and religious leader of a Muslim state considered to be a representative of Allah on earth; “many radical Muslims believe a Khalifah will unite all Islamic lands and people and subjugate the rest of the world”
    _____

Also see Caliphate and History of Khalifah

On the other hand if you don’t fancy the world of the Ummah (the community of Islam) you could always fall back on the wicked west, democracy, free enterprise, consumerism, invention, development and capitalism.

Within perhaps only a few years we will be using this amazing technology.

So what kind of community would you like to live in? Hizb ut-Tahrir’s where man-made democracy and all that brought us to where we are today is no more, or the backward-looking delights of a political religion determined to thrust its medieval mindset on all of us, religious, political or not?

Oh, this world of communities is just filled with hard choices, don’t you think?

As if by some unlikely congruence two ‘stars’ in the political firmament have been seen as little more than dust clouds of confusion. One repelled by, the other attracted by the real shining star of today’s politics -  Tony Blair. Yes, I did say “today’s” politics. Yes, I did say “Tony Blair”.

    Click picture to read words

First there’s the ABUSER – Ed Miliband.

You must remember him? He is the Labour leader who is Not Tony Blair.

Then there’s the USER – David Cameron.

He’s the Conservative leader, current prime minister, who wishes he were Tony Blair. To be fair he keeps trying, without much success so far.

The Daily Mail reported on a Peter Mandelson interview with – “Mandelson launches scathing attack on Ed Miliband: ‘He doesn’t know what he wants… and BLAIR could have won election’”

Lord Mandelson has launched a searing attack on Ed Miliband - "too quick to criticise his own side"

‘Lord Mandelson today launched a searing attack on Ed Miliband and warned he could lose Labour the next election.

The former business secretary, who taunted the party leader in his memoirs, also condemned him for being too quick to ‘criticise his own side’ and said he had still not set out what he stood for.

Meanwhile, he suggested Tony Blair could have won last year’s General Election, had he been at the helm, rather than Gordon Brown.

He warned the Labour leader not to cede the centre ground to the Tories and risk suffering defeat when the country next goes to the polls.’

    Mandelson continued:

‘And what we are seeing now is Cameron and his lot trying desperately hard to be like New Labour, to be centrist, to be moderate, to marginalise their Right-wing, although I think a lot of their policies are tilting in a different direction.’

He added: ‘If we continue to cede that ground to Cameron and the Tories then we are going to be in trouble at the next election.’

Lord Mandelson’s latest remarks follow a scathing attack made last month during which he suggested Mr Miliband risked making his party as unelectable as it was in the days of Michael Foot and Neil Kinnock.’

Speaking on ITV’s Daybreak (watch here), Lord Mandelson said:

“I like Ed Miliband [...]  “He’s so quick to say he’s not New Labour, he’s not Tony Blair and the rest. Well, it’s fine to be something different but you’ve also got to make clear what that something else is, and I don’t think he’s done so yet.”

Too right, Lord Mandelson. I’ve forgotten all about Miliband Jnr already, which means I’ve forgotten we had a third party. Oh, yes, despite having been the first party since 1997, Labour is now the third party in terms of importance. A quiet revolution hit us on Tony Blair’s birthday last year and it was not a wanted gift for or even from Tony Blair.

In the 8-minute Daybreak interview Mandelson also says he doesn’t think Cameron will be picking his brains over Libya. Not that he needs to.  He has been picking the brains of a man who has been far closer to the ground regarding Gaddafi and Libya and the Middle East. You’ve got it -

    The USER of Tony Blair

LONDON - NOVEMBER 12: Britain's then Prime Minister Tony Blair and leader of the Conservative Party David Cameron attend the Remembrance Sunday Service at The Cenotaph on November 12, 2006 in London.

I know I should be pleased that Cameron has been picking Blair’s brains on Libya and Gaddafi. [See Daily Mail report - 'Cameron's Secret Libya Crisis Talks to Blair'.] At least Cameron knows where to go in a crisis.

But following his traducement of Blair, via the semi-opaque remarks the other day on Labour’s ‘mistakes’ over Gaddafi, I am not feeling all that warm towards Mr Cameron.

I wrote a comparative honesty post here – Major c/w Cameron on Cameron’s press-directed language regarding Blair & Gaddafi.  Cameron actually agreed that Blair was right to do the ‘deal in the desert’ but he chose to give the impression that he didn’t approve of anything to do with (New) Labour’s actions on anything to do with Libya.

I find that disingenuous, particularly unfair treatment of Mr Blair considering Cameron’s REAL thoughts and above all it is disgraceful SPIN.

But it’s even worse than just political spin. Our ever-so-straight, ever-so-tough, ever-so-foot-in-mouthy prime minister Cameron, has been consulting Tony Blair on the Libya crisis!

    Mail excerpts:

David Cameron has been secretly consulting Tony Blair about Libya despite publicly criticising his links with Colonel Gaddafi.

Senior officials say the Prime Minister has held at least two conversations in the past fortnight with the former Labour premier, now a Middle East peace envoy.

Mr Cameron has consulted Mr Blair about the Libyan dictator’s state of mind and sought advice about how to make him quit.

But yesterday the Prime Minister continued his public condemnation of Blairite links to Libya, telling MPs that Lord Mandelson, Baroness Symons and former defence minister Adam Ingram should refer themselves to the independent Advisory Committee on Business Appointments, which vets jobs of former ministers.

It is understood the two men spoke just before the Prime Minister’s ill-fated trip to Egypt and the Gulf, during which he asked Mr Blair’s advice about Arab leaders. Mr Cameron has also consulted Mr Blair since the former prime minister spoke to Colonel Gaddafi twice last Friday.

A senior Whitehall official said Mr Blair’s office warned Downing Street he was planning to talk to the Libyan despot, telling him it was time to go.

‘Then Blair got in touch again to say that he had spoken to Gaddafi and said he was going to speak to him again.’

Since then, Mr Cameron has discussed the situation personally with Mr Blair. A second senior source said: ‘It’s not a case of Cameron using him as a conduit to Gaddafi, it’s a case of picking his brains.’

Picking his brains? No chance, Mr Cameron. Like your political nous, you’re stuck with your own.

Mr Blair wouldn’t do it, as he is too honest a man and the issues are too big. But the thought crosses my spinning mind. How’s about providing Cameron with some disinformation?  The kind of disinformation Cameron provides for the rest of us? [Read more from the Daily Mail]

    Addendum

It shouldn’t be glossed over that Lord Mandelson also suggested that Labour may have won the last year’s election if Tony Blair had still been at the helm of the party rather than Gordon Brown.

Asked if Mr Blair could have won the election he replied: “I think it’s a possibility that he would have done, but he thought it was time to move on and he was fairly well pushed out of government in 2007.”

I wonder how many in Labour are ruing the day they let the knives sink deep into their record-breaking winner while they averted their eyes?

And I wonder how many of them have read the historical facts on how long it took Labour to find a winning leader? Forget 18 Wilderness Years. It was 33 years. [Read the unpalatable truth here.] Thirty three long years from their last elected winning leader Harold Wilson in 1964 until 1997 when Blair arrived to light up the political cosmos.

So there you go Superstar, Ed M. You’re no doubt elated that your candidate won in the Barnsley Central by-election. In fact if your party had lost this by-election in one of your safest seats  it would have been more of a shock than the Liberal Democrat coming in 6th and losing his deposit.

The next general election will be a whole different ball game.

You’ve only got to beat the man who admires the man you don’t: your party’s most successful ever election winner. Tony Blair.

Easy-peasy. You can do it – in less than 33 years, I’m sure.

BIG MOUTH, BIG HEAD CHOUDARY CRIES OFF

This is WHY – “in light of the fact…” Anjem Choudary ‘postponed’ his look at me I’m pro-sharia demonstration today outside the White House.

    Choudary:

“And in light of the fact that many people have given us advice from the Muslim community, both in Britain and in America, and from our scholars like Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed and others, that it is better to postpone the call for the sharia in Washington, outside of the White House, today. We will be postponing the protest outside of the White House  although the call for the sharia is a universal one and it must be implemented immediately wherever we are in the world and it is not [...?] to live  without the sharia in our lives and within society even for one day. It is necessary for us to ensure that the call is understood and made in the best way everywhere where the Muslims exist in all of the land whether in the so-called Muslim countries or in the non-muslim countries.” (see here)

Yeah right, Choudary. In light of the fact that you are running scared, as bullies always do.

It is not clear whether he actually went to the USA.  If I find out I’ll let you know.

Some write Choudary off as of no significance, and it’s probably true that he has little following in Britain. I’m still waiting for average, law-abiding everyday British Muslims to denounce him in numbers, though. Will let you know when they do.

    4. BBC report – Shahbaz Bhatti’s Goodbye call

Shahbaz Bhatti, Pakistan’s slain minister was aware of the threats that he faced in Pakistan.

“I am ready to die” said Bhatti shortly before he was killed for protecting the rights of minorities.

Al Jazeera has obtained the footage of an interview with the minister in which he talks about how he would carry on fighting to end the suffering of his community.

Bhatti’s close colleague shared the video with Al Jazeera saying that Bhatti had requested him to do so in the eventuality of his assassination because “it is with the Muslim world I want to share the message of love. That is the only message that can bring the Muslim world out of the circle of hate and killings”.

Their Update: An additional announcement about the Sharia demonstration can be found here.

Anjem Choudary’s website, Shariah4America, has announced that the March 3 demonstration has been “postponed.”

    Also, see here. Excerpt:

Press Conference to be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, March 3rd in Lafayette Park:

WASHINGTON, DC— On Thursday, March 3 in Lafayette Park, the Liberty Alliance will call for an end to false accusations of “bigotry” and “Islamophobia” designed to silence those voicing concern about the threat of Shariah law to the Constitution. The news conference will begin at 12:00 noon, March 3rd, at the southeast corner of Lafayette Park near the White House in Washington.

    __________

Providing they don’t turn this scumbag back at the airport at Washington DC, this embarrassment to Britain, this apology for a man, Anjem BLOODY Choudary, will hold a “static demonstration” in front of the White House today, Thursday. Listen to the two audios below:

    Aaron Klein Interviewing Anjem Choudary – Feb. 27, 2011 – Part 1.wmv

Anjem Choudary about Obama: “I do believe that the only way for him to save himself in this life and in the hereafter is to embrace Islam. Islam will eradicate all sins, he will be like the day his mother gave birth to him. Otherwise – when we do implement the Sharia – obviously he will face the consequences of a trial under the Sharia court.”

From 77 WABC Radio: Aaron will interview British extremist Anjem Choudary, who is planning a protest demanding American Muslims “rise up” against our country.

    Aaron Klein Interviewing Anjem Choudary – Feb. 27, 2011 – Part 2.wmv

Klein: (At 5:44) – “Your group has called for death to Tony Blair, death to the Queen, death to Salman Rushdie, down with the UK government, so I really want to know why in the world are you a free man right now? Why are you not arrested?”

Choudary: “I believe that Allah is the protector…”

    _____

Mr Klein was commendably ultra-polite to this piece of ****. Whereas this site reports a ‘ Furious reaction when Choudary was interviewed by Fox News presenter Sean Hannity earlier this month.

Sharia4America The Shariah 4 America project will become “an unanticipated wild card for the West, galvanizing the immense support for Sharia in the Middle East and bringing it directly to the doorsteps of the United States of America, organizers say at shariah4america. They call on Muslims in the U.S., particularly in New York, Michigan, Chicago and Washington, D.C., “to take lessons from their Muslim brothers and sisters in North Africa and the Middle East and rise to implement the Sharia in America.”

ARREST HIM – CHARGE HIM WITH INCITING MURDER (WHICH HE DOES AND GETS AWAY WITH IT IN BRITAIN). THEN LOCK HIM UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY.  P-L-E-A-S-E.

Apologies for shouting, my dear American friends. But I am sick of this creature and of my own country turning a blind eye to his racial/religious/political hatred in the land where he was born, which educated him, supports him and where he is treated as though he is a normal, balanced, rational human being. He is nothing of the sort. He is an inciter of terror. Nothing less.
