Why don’t they go for the real terrorists and murderers who are trying to infiltrate and change the enlightened western world as we know it?” and “The best there’s been since I grew up and I’m nearly 70 now. ‘Tis a pity that some have just never grown up at all.” and “Tony Blair was an excellent PM and the world holds him in high esteem.”

UPDATE: From here -“The IDF have just released the unedited radio transmission between the Israeli navy and the Flotilla. At 2.05 you can hear someone say “shut up, go back to Auschwitz” and at 5.42 someone else say “dont forget 9-11″. Go here to end of post to see the Youtube channel’s information.

According to the Sky News TV ticker, the Turkish PM is about to set out from Turkey to Gaza on his own flotilla surrounded by his navy for protection.

So, is this a puerile gesture or a WAR DECLARATION?  You couldn’t make it up. (More here below)

And another thing … this nonsense got me fuming.  Especially since it delighted the idiotic Any Questions audience, the type of biased audience typical of those attracted to Any Questions and Question Time these days.

On Any Questions, the Labour MP Kate Hoey got the cheer of the day from the infantile and politically ignorant  audience for her populist suggestion that the new coalition government should “sack” Tony Blair as “Middle East peace envoy”.

What an (excuse the language) effing fool. Mr Blair is not the “peace envoy” but is the Quartet’s Representative or Special Envoy. Although I wish he did have political powers, he doesn’t. His powers are limited to assisting the Palestinians from the ground up, which he has been doing from the beginning.

This comment was sent in to Any Answers.  Needless to say it was not used by the biased BBC.

For the edification of Kate Hoey and her populist remark,  the former PM is not the “peace envoy”. He is the Quartet’s Representative aka Special Envoy. Although I wish he did have political powers, he doesn’t. His powers are limited to assisting the Palestinians from the ground up, which he has been doing from the beginning. His input is much appreciated. We need to investigate and publicise the good effects of his present position in the Middle East, and detach ourselves from the widespread pastime of Blair hating. It reflects badly on our political nous as well as on our news media for failing to understand or reflect the facts. Mr Dimbleby might have pointed these facts out, and even mentioned Ms Hoey’s history of having been sacked by Mr Blair in 2001.

By the way, this government can’t sack him because they don’t employ him. Unlike Mr Blair the British government has NO influence in the Middle East.

“KATE HOEY is Labour MP for Vauxhall. A devoted football fan and former high jump champion, she took on the role of Sports Minister in 1999 only to become a casualty of a cabinet reshuffle after the 2001 election. Now a backbencher, she is sports commissioner charged with delivering London’s grass-roots 2012 legacy for Mayor Boris Johnson. She is also chair of the Countryside Alliance, the voice of rural Britain. Last year, she said she believed Labour had “moved its position so much it is now impossible to say what it stands for” and that she wouldn’t be “devastated” if the Conservatives won the election. More recently, she nominated left-winger MP John McDonnell in the Labour leader contest. Born and educated in Northern Ireland, she became MP for Vauxhall in 1989. A Eurosceptic, she has long been unafraid of challenging her party: she voted against government policy on the war in Iraq, university tuition and top-up fees, ID cards and supported a referendum on the EU Lisbon Treaty. In January 2001, she spoke out in a shooting magazine against the post-Dunblane 1997 law banning the use of handguns. She insisted her Labour colleagues had taken a “very unfair attitude” toward legitimate shooting, which she argued young children should learn, as she had on her family’s farm in Ulster.”

A number of news websites have picked up on Lebanese newspaper al-Mustaqbal’s claim that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants to travel to Gaza himself to break Israel’s blockade the Palestinian territory.

    Ynet news translates the story which states;

“As part of the open conflict between Turkey and Israel following the massacre against the ‘freedom sail’ to Gaza and the protest sparked in the world, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan is considering going to Gaza himself in order to break the blockade imposed on the Strip.”

Al-Mustaqbal also reports that Erdogan has informed the US Administration of his plan to send a Turkish naval escort with another flotilla of aid, but that the Americans have requested the Prime Minister delay the escalation.

It is not clear whether Erdogan would actually board the flotilla himself, but Al-Mustaqbal (Future) newspaper describes the source of the story as “knowledgeable”.

The prospect of the naval confrontation between Turkey and Israel is a dangerous escalation of the crisis, potentially resulting in open conflict between the two states, which could easily draw in Israel’s traditional enemies.

The move could be seen as an attempt by Turkey to force the hand of the UN and US to act on the Israeli blockade of Gaza.

Reference the audio/video at top of page:

idfnadesk — 04 June 2010 — During radio transmissions between Israeli Navy and the ships of the “Free Gaza” Flotilla on 31 May 2010, the Israeli Navy ship attempts to make contact with the ‘Defne Y’ on channel 1-6. Other ships from the flotilla respond on the channel, without identifying themselves. At some point during the radio exchange the Israeli Navy is told by one of the ships to “shut up, go back to Auschwitz” (2:05) and “don’t forget 9-11” (5:42).

In the early hours of the May 31st 2010, IDF soldiers boarded the ships of the “Free Gaza” Flotilla, after the ships refused to redirect their course. Aboard the Mavi Marmara, the soldiers encountered serious violence when, in a pre-planned attack, the activists on board attempted to lynch the soldiers with knives, metal rods and stole two of their guns. As a result 7 soldiers were injured and 9 demonstrators were killed. For more information please go to:
