Supporters of the 'One Law For All' rally AGAINST Sharia Law, in central London, 20th June 2010

One Law For All, the mixed race, cross-party group of all religions and none who campaign against SHARIA LAW held a demonstration yesterday outside Downing Street. Like bees around honey, it drew some attention but repelled others.

It drew Islamist Sharia law supporters; it repelled the press. The British press in Britain are not too keen on that blend of honey, it would seem.

The One Law For All site described the demo as  a “huge success” (pictures and report).

I suppose that depends on your yardstick for measuring success. At Russia Today’s site there is a different angle which puts things rather differently. Their video concentrates on the pro-Sharia-Law group, implying that is was their demo and that the OLFA people turned up to stand against them.

Until the press or the One Law For All campaigners explain which came first – the OLFA group or their opposite number – the chicken or the egg – we remain unsure as to which demo was in response to which. Now let me try to guess …. hmmm… it’s a toughie.

There was another London demo EARLIER yesterday – Unite Against Fascism. A quick Tube ride and the Eastenders for Sharia Law gang of misfits would have been at Whitehall just as the One Law for All demo was starting. As if.

    As if indeed.

Unite Against Fascism demo, FOR SHARIA LAW, a caliphate and an end to British democracy, in East London, 20th June 2010

At the risk of being called “racist”, well of course – I’ve heard that tired old song many times – why are there no British caucasions or seemingly non-Muslims “uniting against fascism”? Why are all these 5,000 or at least most of them of Asian appearance? And why are there no women protesting in this picture? Do female Muslims not fear fascism too?  Do they have plenty of that at home? And have native Brits never had to face fascism? Have we forgotten what it means? What it looks like? Even in its nascent state? Don’t we give a damn?

one law for all v islamic extremists in whitehall London June 20th

[The gates appearing at the start of this video, on the left, are at the entrance to Downing Street.]

From the Youtube channel:  meaty20 — 20 June 2010 — One law for all demo v islamic extremists at Whitehall June 20th. Some EDL turned up and were taken away by police for no reason. Later the UAF and more muslims turned up from east london to join the extremists with police escort.

The English Defence League (EDL) are usually described by our press as white racists, not dissimilar to the British Naional Party (BNP). I feel no compunction to join either of these particular groups, and am never likely to. But quite why one group of around 5,000 Asians (Unite Against Fascism) can unite around a cause and fail to be called “racist” and yet when another group of a couple of hundred (non-Asians) unite against them the smaller group is described as “racist” confirms everything the informed among us need to know about how far down the slippery slope our relativism and submission has taken us in Britain today.

From Roger Bates, EDL supporter on the rally which he attended. If this was the One Law For All gathering this EDL group was not invited.

    More from Russia Today

Muslim protestors gathered in London on Sunday calling for aspects of Sharia law to be introduced in Britain. The rally turned into chaos, sparking a counter-demonstration by English right-wing nationalists.

We find many of these people who call for human rights and one law,” said Asad Ullah, member of the Muslims against the Crusades group. “They come and they say that they want equality. But what equality do you get when one man legislates over another? Is he not more superior than you? You are worshipping him by submitting to and obeying his laws… We will get oppression like this until we all submit to one law, and that is the law of God.”

A few meters away from Ullah, Maryam Namazie, spokesperson for One Law for All, a campaign that opposes the introduction of Sharia law, struggled to get her voice heard. She attended the rally along with a group of other moderate Muslims and non-Muslims who came to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of Neda Agha-Soltan, killed following last year’s Iranian election.

[Er… inaccurate. The OLFA group were going on to attend another rally in commemoration of the young Iranian woman killed during Iran’s demonstartions against Ahmadinejad.]

The British government is making a huge mistake giving them access to bring Sharia law here,” Namazie said. “It thinks it can reduce terrorism by doing that. It doesn’t understand that this is the political wing of the terrorist movement and they are here to suppress people’s rights. And we’re not going to allow it.

The nationalist English Defense League also attended the rally. They were not welcomed by either group, although some among them said they came with a message of inclusion.

“We’re members of the EDL, we’re not racists – black, white, brown unite against these Islamic preachers,” said Hayley Moore. “We want one law for all in the UK, so we’ve decided to come and join these to protest against them.”

Our lads got arrested, and they didn’t do nothing. They got arrested, and they should be arresting them because they’re inciting religious and racial hatred,” Moore said, referring to the EDL protestors bundled into vans by the police who said they had no permission to demonstrate.

Shortly thereafter, a group of protestors carrying “Unite Against Fascism” banners joined the rally. It first seemed that those carrying the UAF banners were there to oppose the EDL, until their chanting became clear and one could hear them calling out “Allah Akbar.” The UAF group has denied any association.

A total of four factions protesting in favour of and against the introduction of Sharia law into the UK were represented at the rally on Sunday. Such demonstrations are becoming more and more common on the streets of towns all across the UK.

    “Anti-terrorism law trumps free speech”.

Oops, my mistake. This is the US of A not good ol’ free speaking Britain where you are still permitted to call for the assassination of the monarch and politicians and the Police will look the other way.  But don’t say, don’t even whisper, and definitely not think “Muslims go home”. Because if you do you are a racist bigot and can be expected to see the inside of a police van before bedtime.

Not that America doesn’t have its own problems. Al Qaeda spokesman Gadahn (isn’t that the American convert to Islam?) today warned Obama that new attacks are coming.

But worry not, little Brits. We’re all right. We’ve already been defeated. Haven’t we?

    Well? Haven’t we?

This first comment at Harry’s Place on the London One Law For All demo is priceless. Unfortunately, just laughing at the issue is not going to be enough.

What do the British press have to say to this important thing and the Coalition government too. Are they like the last going to let these pro muslim terrorists bring in what they want to this country. When we bring our culture into theirs they don’t like it. Why should we let them bring such backward laws into ours?

Celia – I haven’t chased around the internet for such news, just noticed their lack of interest through my Google Alerts. I suppose there could be something at The Mail, if you want to check.

Your logic over Muslim countries and the lack of inclusivity in their cultures is, well … logical. But sadly Britain whose wings have been clipped by its present PC liberalism no longer understands logic.

If you haven’t read Melanie Phillips on this, you should. She shows that we have been in the grip of this decline – moral relativism and inverted blame game for years, in fact decades. It didn’t start with 9/11 or Blair’s decision to support the USA in Iraq. It has been creeping into our culture for years. Now we are prepared to die for this new “religion”, but not for our own country. Only for the new “religion” – democratic liberal toleration and freedom. This actually contains within itself the seeds of its own destruction. Especially when handed to those who do not accept liberalism, freedom, tolerance or democracy.

A nine year-old can work this out, but not, it seems, our establishment – the press, civil servants, the literrati, and even MPs, with a few notable exceptions. Even the established Church criticised Blair and the past government rather than the Islamist ideology which caused THEM to attack the west in the first place.

The U.A.F./S.W.P., are a cancer within the far left, as explained here, by Some revolutionary Marxist group, where-by it seems, that the Socialist Workers Party can have their material published in Iran, where as the local “Trots” can’t, and are persecuted for their beliefs, pertaining to not conforming to Islamist doctrine.

      • keeptonyblairforpm Says:

        Hi Dazed,

Quite. But not only the “far” left are in hoc to this lot and friends. Half the present Labour party are and almost all of the Lib Dems in their blind ignorance. As for the Tories – they’re just blind in their present arrogance of power, not ignorant.

        And you think you’re confused!?

Will have another post on this tomorrow, Sunday. Meanwhile you might want to take a look at this video of George Galloway threatening and/or inciting the murder of 10,000.

THE MET must know about this. They need to be reminded AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. Complaints can be made online.
