With four and a quarter million views, as I write, Pat Condell seems to be saying what most, if not all of our western politicians are too terrified to say, Geert Wilders excepted. More on him below.

    2) Official Islam Rising Trailer

The trailer to the new documentary from PRB Films.

Geert Wilders lives with a constant death threat over his head. Al-Qaeda has vowed to kill him. As a Dutch parliamentarian and outspoken critic of radical Islam, Mr. Wilders must travel with four bodyguards and sleep in a safe house, each and every night.

His short documentary film, Fitna set off a firestorm in the Middle East and Western Europe immediately upon its release. The controversial film showed how Islamic terrorists are following the literal dictations of the Quran.

That message can be seen here in this DVD, with striking clarity in film, photographs and a special message from Geert Wilders himself, who came to America with an urgent and terrifying warning: “Islam is on the verge of conquering the West.”

I thought the Condell video was OK. It veered almost to the point of hysteria but he just about kept it on track.

My considered view on this is that it would be wrong and self-defeating to impose any special controls or restrictions on this development. Clearly, there is an existing planning process and the opportunity for objections and these should be made vociferously and powerully. I wouild hope that permission will be refused based on this normal procedure.

Geert Wilders? I defend his right to say what he thinks. It was an outrageous disgrace and brought great shame on Britain when he was refused entry here. That’s a Labour government for you. I find him interesting if a little strident.

I’ve been preparing for my 15 milliseconds of fame tomorrow. I won’t let you down John, or you Tone, or even you, Stan. I will stick it to the Labour party if I get the chance.

Remarkably, two buses came along at the same time this week and I managed to wina commission from the Independent On Sunday yesterday. So, tomorrow, the people of Britain will be able both to watch me and read me. Perhaps another day that will “live in infamy”?

Good luck tomorrow, Peter, and well done for both your commissions. I must make sure I watch and read too! Good for you.

Now I can depend on you NOT to let Tone down anyway, can’t I? You can sock it to Labour as far as I’m concerned – the post-Blair Labour of course, whatever they are. Not sure if Stan would agree though. He’s a party man, like yourself, as it were, or weren’t.
