I carried this news at the other blog yesterday – BBC’s sneering Paxman carpeted as “partial” by Helen Boaden, via Stan Rosenthal
In November last year I first reported on Stan’s work at Paxo Stuffed.
Go to my Feral Press post here to see my full report and please feel free to thank Mr Rosenthal for his relentless watchdog work on BBC bias. You can do that by commenting here or at The Feral Press or by signing the Ban Blair-Baiting petition, which has been warning about media bias from all quarters. Remember, right now it’s Tony Blair and the Iraq war they are biased against. Next it could be YOUR favourite politician or policy.
I’ve just had a dig around Paxman’s partners-in-crime, The Guardian, and so far they have not seen fit to comment on Mr Paxman’s fall from grace. Ahhh, the honest, open Guardian, eh? His original offending article at the Guardian is here, in case you missed it.
Go here to read more from the reports on Paxman’s comeuppance:
- Susie Mesure, Independent: Paxman broke BBC impartiality rules – Presenter in trouble for article on Iraq war ‘lies’
- Simon Cable, Daily Mail: Jeremy Paxman warned about BBC impartiality after Iraq war article about Blair’s ‘lies’
- John Rentoul, Independent: Jeremy Paxman: “Inappropriate, sneering, partial”

I am staggered by all the hate directed towards our former Prime Minister. I believe that Tony Blair made the Iraq decision in good faith and is most certainly NOT a war criminal. If anyone should be tried at the Hague it should be those in the media for totally misrepresenting the information and facts. The media are to blame for fuelling this hatred as it is purely driven by them. (UK)

Are you seriously suggesting that Blair DIDN’T lie over Iraq ??
Because if you are you are the only publication that believes that & I hereby challenge the man himself to say publically that he DID NOT lie to Parliament in the Iraq War debate or at any other time prior to & during the illegal invasion of March 2003

@ Mark Gerrard –
“Seriously”? No, I’m suggesting it for a giggle!!!
I don’t think you will find I am the only publication that believes “Blair didn’t lie over Iraq”. Ever read John Rentoul? Oliver Kamm?
That aside (since the Inquiry is still trying to work out who said/believed what or why) the point is that Paxman and people like yourself LIE all the time in your WE ALL KNOW way. And no-one threatens any of you with court. Disgraceful. Hypocritical. Nonsense.

Oh please – why threaten me with court KTBFPM ?
Why don’t you put your money where that big fat mouth of yours is eh & let’s get it on ?
QED – Ask your Lord & Master to sue me & then we can ALL have a proper discussion with the organ grinder –
Instead of the sterile gain saying I am being provided by you his apologist monkeys –
THE TRUTH WILL OUT IT ALWAYS DOES IN THE END
Now then, are you gonna post me or delete me ???!

@ Mark Gerrared,
Did I threaten you with court? I think not. I actually said –
The last three words did not mean you SHOULD be threatened with court (although it is clear people can call politicians all the names they want and that is not considered libellous in any way). What those three words meant are that it is – Disgraceful. Hypocritical. Nonsense – that you crowd think you can accuse and abuse Blair with no sanction. You have no proof that your accusations are correct, only your opinion. Now if I said, (and I don’t!) – Mark Gerrard is – as WE ALL KNOW – a criminal without equal in the western world (or something similar) that would be wrong and unfair.
However, somehow or other, you lot think you are free – having read the news today, oh boy – to opine that it’s OK, in fact quite the thing, to describe Tony Blair in such terms.
You’ve already lost any claim to understanding the terms ‘innocent before the law – until proven guilty’ etc.
