It’s all very confusing.  After the G8 refused today to back a no-fly zone resolution, the UK is reported to be backing Lebanon’s call for a no-fly zone over Libya at the UN.  Lebanon’s call?  Why not France backing them or putting it forward? France the original main mover of the no-fly zone? And what does Syria think of Lebanon’s move? And what about Iran?

And the Great Quiet Ones – the US? Is the USA still hoping to keep at arms’ length from all of this?

Right now Lebanon Now has this  “France says Libyan no-fly zone plan overtaken by events” Nothing there yet about the Lebanon resolution! Odd, that, don’t you think?

It’s all talk, as always.  This resolution is easy for Lebanon and the UK to put forward since the G8 and many of the UNSC will NEVER back it, when push comes to shove. And they ALL know that.

After the above I am tempted to give you a rendition of Hosanna, HosannaObamo, Obama, bamabama oh… but you don’t deserve that. You’ve got enough to be bothered about right now. You can enjoy the great Beatles instead. They wrote this in their 20s.  Wonder who they had in mind?

And what’s this from Randy’s Right?

‘The Libyan opposition website Libya al-Youm is reporting fighter jets from what is being called the “Free Libyan Air Force” (never heard of it before today) has attacked the Libyan Navy off Ajdabiya, and 2 Libyan warships are on fire – sinking, while a third warship is said to have been damaged.

If this report by the rebel opposition turns out to be true, this is a very interesting development in the Libyan civil war. I think I speak for many of us when saying I am very curious who this “Free Libyan Air Force” is.

I would not be surprised to learn it is not Libyan at all, or not only Libyan.

Reuters and Al Jazeera Arabic TV are reporting that MiG-23s and helicopters have sunk two Libyan warships.

The same sources being cited by both news agencies are saying tanks were also bombed near near Brega and Ajdabiya, the two towns reported to have fallen to pro-government forces today.

There are also new reports from the opposition website Libya al-Youm that the Gardabya Air Base airport runways have been bombed, which somewhat matches what some of the Libyan rebel Twitter sources are saying by describing smoke coming from an Air Force base outside the city of Sitre.

According to Reuters, “The Brnieq online newspaper quoted an unnamed airforce officer at the Benina airbase in Benghazi.”

This is a very interesting development. It also makes the no-fly zone discussions a lot more difficult when both sides are flying aircraft in combat.’

I am staggered by all the hate directed towards our former Prime Minister. I believe that Tony Blair made the Iraq decision in good faith and is most certainly NOT a war criminal. If anyone should be tried at the Hague it should be those in the media for totally misrepresenting the information and facts. The media are to blame for fuelling this hatred as it is purely driven by them. (UK)

The greatest and most successful leader the Labour Party has ever had with the courage to fight the Islamist terrorists who really would like to kill us all, and you never hear a good word about him. The herd of independent minds, commentators, activists etc who have never had to make a difficult decision in their lives drown out all debate with their inane chants of war crimes and blood on his hands. Defend him at every chance. I just wish more people would do it. (Glasgow, UK)
Blair was the greatest Labour Prime Minister. It is a disgrace that the party has turned away from his legacy. Shame on Ed Miliband and his so-called ‘new generation’.

Tony Blair is a liar, war criminal and traitor to this country and should be in jail. I can’t believe the people who have left comments here are anything other than Blair apologists. Blair got his pay off for supporting the US in illegal wars, he sold out our armed forces which we have to pay for. Blair and Cameron were chosen for us by the industrialists before they ever got near a ballot box. Blair was/is a member of the fabian society whose logo is a wolf in sheeps clothing need I say more. Don’t think these people have our best interests at heart, both are globalists who believe in an unelected dictatorial European police superstate run from Brussels which now has it’s own laws, court, police force, tax system, government. Waken up, they are merely flunkies for a global agenda.Do you really think we are bombing Libya on humanitarian grounds hmmm
reminds me of how we brought freedom to thousands of dead Iraqis.
