    Dear Mr. Blair

The biggest mistake you ever made in government was to hand office to Gordon Brown…. Please come back all is forgiven.. How bad can it get without you.

    Regards

    J.W.

  5. keeptonyblairforpm Says:

    Hello Mr Welsby,

    Thanks for your comment.

I will forward it to Mr Blair’s office. Wish it would work, but somehow I think not, sadly.

By the way, you should know that he did not want to leave when he did. His plan was to serve for at least another year. Nor did he want to hand the leadership over to Brown without a contest.

    But his party knew better.

It was proving impossible to hang on any longer with the plethora of bad press coverage AND revolting colleagues! (Often over Iraq – remember that?)

Of course, the (virtual) knives in his back were quite persuasive too.

I can’t guarantee a reply, as I am not sure if he will read it himself. But, I’ve tried.

You will have noticed that I have left your personal details off the comment above, but it has all been forwarded to the Tony Blair Office.

  10. andrew ball Says:

    dear tony
just how do you feel after letting the north east down ? now even the shipyards have all gone after hundreds of years of history and tradition yet again another false promise to the people of the north east you sold us down the river again . Hope tour enjoying your cosy life while we stuggle to make ends meet . You and mr brown have got alot to answer for as it is you and him that have got us into this mess . And i dont think it is right that you choose the succesor when you step down it should have been put to a public vote now we have someone we dont want as pm THANKS ALOT TONY!!!!!!!!!!

    • keeptonyblairforpm Says:

Sorry, I missed this, Mr Ball.

I don’t know if everyone feels that Mr Blair let the north-east down. But I wouldn’t know enough about the job situation there to comment. I did find this link dated 2005 though. Something about Geoff Hoon waiting for money from the Chancellor, Gordon Brown.

I’m not all that convinced that we wouldn’t have been in an economic pickle even if the Tories were running the economy. It IS a worldwide issue of finance and regulation.

As for Mr Blair choosing Mr Brown to succeed him – don’t make me laugh. That was the last thing he wanted. The parliamentary party voted for Brown – that was ALL who had a vote.

      NOT Mr Blair.

In fact he didn’t intend to leave for at at least another year.
