The “whack-doodles” who want Tony Blair Sacked, Harangued, Hagued, Hanged…

It must be almost seven years since I started pointing out to #twitternumptyland‘s misfits that Tony Blair is not and never has been the “Middle East Peace Envoy”. He is the Representative of the Quartet’s Envoys.

UN announcement, 27th June 2007:

To this end, Mr. Blair, who also stepped down as Prime Minister today, has been named Representative, a position in which he will “bring continuity and intensity of focus to the work of the Quartet in support of the Palestinians, within the broader framework of the Quartet’s efforts to promote an end to the conflict in conformity with the Roadmap.”

His duties will include mobilizing international assistance to the Palestinians and working closely with donors and others, as well as helping to identify and securing support in addressing the Palestinian state’s institutional governance needs.

In his new role, Mr. Blair – who be supported in his efforts by a small expert team based in Jerusalem – will also develop plans to promote Palestinian economic development and will communicate with other countries in support of agreed Quartet objectives.

He will “spend significant time in the region working with the parties and others to help create viable and lasting government institutions representing all Palestinians, a robust economy, and a climate of law and order for the Palestinian people,” the Quartet said.

For those who don’t recall or care that was the same day Mr Blair ceased to be Prime Minister. Seven years on much of the British media (and those on twitter who don’t research fully) still refer to him as “the Middle East peace envoy”. I suggest the stickiness of that misnomer has more to do with wishing him to fail and thus being in a position to say such failure was because he was ill-suited to “peace-making” in the first place.

I realise that being the Representative of the Quartet’s Envoys compared with being the Quartet’s envoy is a fine distinction for some. Of the order of comparison that being an accused prisoner is similar to being an accused prisoner’s legal representative. No?

In fact the constant muddling of these roles is central if you are ever tempted to RT or just copy automaton-like a “Sack Blair” or “Blair to the Hague” tweet.

Before I continue to irritate, I have to thank Mark Lott for the “whack-doodles” title. It applies neatly to such as Noam Chomsky, George Galloway, Ken Livingstone, George Monbiot, Clare Short, Tom Watson and Russell Brand.

Even ‘The Brains’ Have Lost It

“Whack-doodles” also applies to people with quite a few brain cells, such as Stephen Fry, Sir Richard Dalton and former diplomat Oliver Miles.

Oliver Miles, if little else, sets the record straight in his video pour encourager les autres. A pity they didn’t change the title of the video too, as Mr Blair is an ineligible candidate for carting off to The Hague (for reasons kindly expanded on by Miles at the end of the video.)

Worth remembering: On 22 November 2009, Miles published an article in the Independent on Sunday, in which he partly questioned the appointment of two British historians to the Iraq inquiry panel because of their Jewish background and previous support for Israel. Oliver Miles has further form on criticising Blair and British foreign policy (2004 letter)

Of course we all realise that all of this Sack Blair business is going nowhere and is of no consequence. The haters are playing a game. They play like spoilt brats, in denial over anything Tony Blair does, did, didn’t do, might have done, could have done or should have done. Good or bad, they deny him any coherence of thought or integrity of strategic purpose. They suffer from a disease. Like a patient in an asylum they accuse the nurse of having their sickness.

So if Blair is not “bad” (via the unutterably bad George Galloway), he is “mad” (according to the slightly bonkers Boris Johnson); or at least “sad” (according to David Owen, the disappointed never was leader of the Labour party). And to add insult to injury, the former PM is now rich, which is the worst thing EVER for some of the left righteous.

Forget anything Blair ever did that was of any value for mankind. Forget that boys in Kosovo are named after him after he saved Kosovars from ethnic cleansing by Milosevic. Forget Sierra Leoneans love him after he stopped Liberia’s Charles Taylor’s limb-choppers (Taylor was sentenced to 50 years). Forget that Iraqi Kurds look up to him as a hero for removing Saddam. Forget the minimum wage, the peace settlement in Northern Ireland, devolution for Scotland & Wales,  equal rights. Blair did something the whack-doodles disagree with, so he is clearly material for their life-consuming revulsion.

Sacked, Harangued, Hagued and even Hanged

  • The call to “sack Blair” (disregarding the impossibility of sacking anyone from a job they don’t hold) I get.
  • The determination to pursue him to the end of his days I utterly detest, but it is par for the course for such as Monbiot and Galloway. So I get that too.
  • The invocation of an appearance at The Hague is no more than an eye-catching dream for haters. Thus I get that too.
  • But every time I see a violence-hating peace-lover say “hang Blair” I am repulsed. I see that far too often online and I blame those who say “he will never answer for his crimes”. If that’s the case, what to do, hmm? Incitement is a crime and such as Monbiot & Galloway should be up in court for it.  Jonathan Meades – whose “historical novel” would be The Trial and Execution of Tony Blair – normalises the unthinkable.

These recent articles are worth a read if you don’t think Blair should be Sacked, Harangued, Hagued or Hanged

Lord Campbell-Savours – Back-stabbing of Blair is vomit-inducing

“The idea that most of us supported intervention on the single justification of WMD is nonsense. Our concerns went far wider”

Robbie Travers – Intervening in Iraq was still the right thing to do

“Let’s be quite clear for the various Saddam nostalgists, fetishists, apologists and amorists: Saddam was far from just the leader of a totalitarian state, he was a genocidal megalomaniac who threatened to destabilise the security of the entire Middle East and was holding the world to ransom.”

John O’Sullivan – No, Tony Blair and the West Aren’t To Blame For Violence in the Muslim World

“But Blair is such a polarizing figure that whatever he says, half of the country will assert the opposite. In addition there is in Britain, as in much of the Western world, a masochistic appetite for self-blame and self-condemnation. For these two reasons it strikes many people as outrageous for Blair to claim that he is not responsible for Boko Haram’s kidnapping of schoolgirls or the murders of prisoners committed by ISIS.”

30th March 2012

This 32-second video from George (pussy cat) Galloway’s infamous outing on Big Brother speaks volumes. It’s worth half a minute of your time, believe me.

Galloway to Rula Lenska, on Galloway’s little chat with his friend Saddam:

“But the meeting was between me and him. I asked to see him.  I said ‘look, er…  I’m going to be frank with you. You have to know from me that they’re definitely going to attack. And I then said to him,  I fixed him eye to eye like I’m fixing you. And I said –  ‘and you have to get rid of what you’ve got’.”

Instead of asking the obvious, as would an averagely intelligent human being – say for instance – ‘what did you mean by getting rid of what he’d got?’ – Rula Lenska  says as per the GG script- “was he hated by the people?”

Upon which cue George Galloway says of the “indefatigable” Saddam – “Not at all, not at all.”

So I’ll ask what GG meant, since Ms Lenska wasn’t quite clued-up enough.

What, Gorgeous One… what EXACTLY was it you suggested Saddam had to “get rid of”? A couple of the superfluous  Mansions? That run-down Roller? An oil well or two? One of the wives/ex-wives? Another son-in-law?

In August 1995, Raghad (Saddam’s eldest daughter) and her husband Hussein Kamel al-Majid and Rana (his 2nd daughter) and her husband, Saddam Kamel al-Majid, defected to Jordan, taking their children with them. They returned to Iraq when they received assurances that Saddam would pardon them. Within three days of their return in February 1996, both of the Kamel brothers were attacked and killed in a gunfight with other clan members who considered them traitors. (source)

Or was it … (drumroll while one utters the unutterable)…

As if, eh?

Eh, President Assad?

Tony Blair to be recalled to Iraq Inquiry.

Iraq Inquiry: Tony Blair is recalled to give evidence

Tony Blair appeared before the committee in January

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair is to be recalled to give evidence a second time to the Iraq Inquiry.

He is one of a number of key figures, including former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, asked to appear before the Chilcot committee again.

In January, Mr Blair defended his decision to take the country to war, saying he had no regrets about it and that Saddam Hussein was a “monster”.

The inquiry said it wanted “more detail” in some key areas.

Earlier this year Chairman Sir John Chilcot said there could be more hearings if there were gaps in the evidence or points that needed clarifying.

The committee has now named the individuals who have now been asked to appear again or provide more information as well as a small number of new witnesses.

    ‘Further evidence’

Mr Blair and other witnesses will appear between 18 January 2011 and 4 February.

As for his initial appearance, a public ballot will held to allocate tickets for the central London hearing – with a third of the 60 places set aside for families of those who served or were killed in Iraq.

The BBC’s Diplomatic Correspondent Nicholas Witchell said it was not clear why Mr Blair had been asked to appear once more, but there must be significant details that the inquiry wished to clarify following its analysis of documentary evidence and a number of private hearings over the summer.

In seven hours of questioning earlier this year, Mr Blair said the Iraqi regime posed a danger to international security and he would take the same decision again to take part in military action.

In an update on its progress, the inquiry said it would be seeking “further evidence” on certain matters.

“As we draft our report it is clear that there are some areas where we need further detail,” Sir John said. “I am committed to taking the majority of this evidence in public.”

“In some cases we will be writing to witnesses or government departments asking them to provide a written statement of events, responding to specific questions set out by the Committee. In other cases we will be taking oral evidence.”

Other witnesses to be recalled include Mr Straw and former Chief of the Defence Staff Lord Bryce while current Cabinet Secretary Sir Gus O’Donnell and Sir Stephen Wall, once Tony Blair’s adviser on European affairs, will appear for the first time.

    Legal basis

Former Attorney General Lord Goldsmith, who admitted his view changed about the necessity for a further UN resolution legitimising military action in the run-up to the conflict, has been asked to give further written information.

Among those asked to do the same are John Williams, head of news at the Foreign Office in the run-up to the war, who was involved in early versions of the September 2002 dossier which has since become notorious for its suggestion Iraq could deploy weapons of mass destruction within 45 minutes.

Dr Brian Jones, a senior member of the Defence Intelligence Staff who raised concerns about the 45-minute claim will also provide written evidence.

    • Jack Straw
    • Lord Turnbull
    • Lord Boyce
    • Lord Wilson

Neither have, so far, contributed to the inquiry.

The committee has been holding hearings since November, in which it has questioned a host of former Labour Cabinet ministers, senior military commanders, civil servants and diplomats.

A number of former government lawyers have argued that the invasion was unlawful.

From 26 September to 1 October, four of the five-member inquiry panel visited Iraq for private discussions with leading politicians and officials.

Sir John has stressed the final report, not expected to be published before March, will be “full, thorough, evidence-based and frank”.

“We are independent of government and will not shy away from criticising if we find fault or if we conclude that errors have been made. We are determined to produce a report that will be useful to future governments,” he added.

    12th August 2010

I have been called some names for even writing this blog with the name and picture of the “well-known war criminal” in the masthead.  Not least among those names is “useful idiot”.

“Just you wait”, the incredulous know-alls say. “He’ll get his comeuppance. You’ll see!”

It seems that some men’s useful idiots are other men’s freedom fighters.

Late last night, being an avid late-night BBC World Service listener I caught some of this programme “Useful idiots” (first broadcast 4th August.)

Today CIF Watch has this on the programme:

These video clips are from the BBC Documentary: Useful Idiots, hosted by John Sweeney.

In political jargon, the term “useful idiots” was used to describe Soviet sympathisers in Western countries and the attitude of the Soviet government towards them.

Useful idiots, in a broader sense, refers to Western journalists, travellers and intellectuals who gave their blessing – often with evangelistic fervour – to tyrannies and tyrants, thereby convincing politicians and the public of the Utopian (rather than Dystopian) nature of the society.

In part one (the first three clips) John Sweeney looks at Stalin’s Western apologists.

In part two (the last three clips) he explores how present day stories of human rights abuses across the world are still rewritten.

(H/T to MuggedbyReality and Harry’s Place)

I have used below the last three video/audios on today’s Useful Idiots.

    Useful Idiots: Modern Era (1/3)

    Recent historical: China – Chairman Mao/Western intellectuals/Cultural revolution.  Chile – Pinochet/Lamont

From Oliver Kamm on western intellectuals – “There were others on the political left, including the liberal left who did see China as some sort of alternative, efficient and joyous even way of doing things differently and this was partly a testament to the stupidity of intellectuals, partly a function of the lack of information about China particularly the terrible details of the great famine and then the cultural revolution. But above all it was this recurrent belief among western intellectuals that because there are imperfections in their own societies there must be better ways of doing them outside, and alighting on appalling dictatorships as working examples of how to do things differently.”

Listen to Tony Benn wriggle to try to extricate himself from the “useful idiot” tag. Too late. You’re lo-o-ong hooked, Mr Benn.

    Useful Idiots: Modern Era (2/3)

In part two Sweeney explores how present day stories of human rights abuses across the world are still rewritten. Africa. Benn, Galloway –  Sweeney – “In the 1980’s quite a few British conservatives visited apartheid South Africa as a guest of the white minority regime. One was a young hopeful in the conservative research department , David Cameron, now Britain’s prime minister. Since then Mr Cameron has publicly disavowed Mrs Thatcher’s nuanced stance on apartheid and condemned it.”

    Useful Idiots: Modern Era (3/3)

In part three John Sweeney looks at Iran, their presidential elections, Press TV and their supposedly British employees – George Galloway & Yvonne Ridley.

    H/t to MuggedByReality – via –…

Mail, 4th Jan 2009: Scuffle at pro-Palestinian rally – Kamm & Galloway row

On the talkSport website, the station boasts about Galloway’s extreme views and notorious friendship with the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

Yvonne Ridley, Tony Benn, George Galloway, Annie Lennox, Bianca Jagger

It says: ‘Gorgeous George has also shared tea and biscuits with now displaced-despot and all round bad guy that is former president of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, and his sons Uday and Qusay, who were known to be fond of torturing footballers that couldn’t beat Barcelona blindfolded.’

During his show on Friday, Galloway had a blazing on-air row with the Times leader writer Oliver Kamm about the war in Gaza.

A Labour MP for 18 years, Galloway was thrown out in 2003 for ‘bringing the party into disrepute’. Opposing the war in Iraq, he called Tony Blair a ‘liar’ and called on British troops to disobey the Government’s orders.

At the request of Mr Reynolds, see comment below, I’ve found the audio of Galloway Vs Kamm’s row. Mr Reynolds likes a touch of fisticuffs.  In two parts.

Having just listened to both it was hardly a blazing row”. Just Galloway at his most contemptibly rude. Nothing unusual there.  But this waste of space and lying Saddam toady has to utter contempuously towards Mr Kamm when the latter is off air – “Well, the last word was indeed yours and it was up to standard with the rest of your words.”

This sarcastic scumbag is clearly not intellectually up to noticing that this means that Mr Kamm has NOT had the last word, which presumably had been their off-air arrangement.

Crawl under a stone, Galloway, where you belong.

UPDATE – 25th October, 2010: “Reversion” personified: “My name is Lauren Booth, and I am a Muslim”. Hardly news, but now official.

NO-ONE TRIED TO KILL AMANUTJOB IN  IRAN! HONEST GUV, said a source in his office. More or less. It is reported that it said so at Iran’s Press TV (now removed). And Lauren Booth works for them (in association with a few other noble Brits). So we know we can trust them. The Beeb in its usual way, is seeking out the truth.

    The Censuring of Lauren Booth

Lauren Booth, sister-in-law of former British prime minister Tony Blair, is a journalist and self-proclaimed pro-Palestinian activist. This video debunks one of the Big Lies spread by Booth that Gazans live in abject poverty and are starving.

We’re All Gazans Now! Aren’t we just?

Pic: Lauren Booth – A Gazan now! Receiving a VIP passport from Hamas PM Ismail Haniya, 28 August 2008

Article below from Cif Watch –

Lauren Booth Censured by UK’s media standards authority

You might remember Lauren Booth’s essay for Comment is Free, on the Mavi Marmara incident, published on 2 June 2010.  Booth was a passenger on the 2008 Free Gaza boat and can be seen in this photo receiving a Gaza passport from Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh.  (See CiF Watch’s post “How to be a Useful Idiot“)

Booth’s CiF piece included such objective passages as this, which not only defended the IHH terrorists on board the flotilla (portraying them as innocent victims of Israeli aggression), but used rhetoric simply dripping with sarcasm and unbridled contempt for the Jewish state:

“Let me ask you one final question that’s been troubling me, as sympathy for those apparently fragile Israeli commandos continues to pour in. If you were on a boat in the Mediterranean and hundreds of the world’s most notoriously violent soldiers started falling from the sky, wouldn’t you defend yourself? The brave human beings on the Mavi Marmara were acting in self-defence.”

As an excellent post at the blog of Honest Reporting (HR) noted, Lauren Booth was recently censured by Ofcom, the UK’s media standards authority, regarding her coverage of the Mavi Marmara incident.  Regarding a broadcast on the June 5 edition of “Remember Palestine,” Ofcom found that her report on Press TV (an English language network owned by the Iranian regime), failed to show even a modicum of impartiality.  (See Ofcom’s full report.) The report cited, among other breaches of ethical standards, these comments from the broadcast:

    • Lauren Booth: “Israeli commandoes . . . committed a massacre of innocent civilians sailing aid ships to the besieged Gaza strip.”
    • Lauren Booth: “This was obviously a barbarous attack on civilians.”

Ofcom’s report also chided Booth for failing to:

    • “…balance the right to freedom of expression on one hand, with the need…to preserve due impartiality”

On these pages, many of us have noted the phenomena of so many seemingly sophisticated, highly educated, CiF columnists who possess what can, at best, be described as a remarkably facile view of the Middle East – blindly accepting a narrative of the Israeli Goliath doing battle with the Palestinian David. Such “progressive” journalists’ seeming erudition is reduced to an almost puerile naiveté when dealing with totalitarian terrorist movements – whose leaders are shamefully misogynistic and anti-gay, openly call for Israel’s annihilation, and engage in explicitly anti-Semitic invectives.

Booth, winner of HR’s 2008 Dishonest Reporting award, ended her CiF piece with the following (reportedly, while maintaining a straight face):

“…And because of [Israel’s actions] many died. Something of the hopeful child in me died with them.”

Yes, that pesky Jewish nation – not only randomly massacring innocent civilians, but corrupting the innocence of youth.

(See CiF Watch’s video, “The Lies of Lauren Booth”, for more background)

Earlier jewels from this insane woman. Sorry, Cherie. She just is.

Next for the high-jump after Ms Booth? Hopefully THIS equally vile Islamism-promoter, friend of Saddam and prize nincompoop

Because I like to provide the occasional giggle to keep the bad dreams away, guys and gals, I just HAD to add this from the vain, vile, vicious, treacherous George Galloway  –

GG:  “For that reason, I have been meeting with some of the world’s leading legal minds, and with those with the means to bring such a prosecution, with a view to seeing justice is done. Watch this space. Tony Blair certainly is.”

Excuse me a second – HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

    That’s better. But –

    “… the world’s leading legal minds … a prosecution … justice… Tony Blair certainly …”

Hysterical! Does he KNOW any “leading minds”? Looks like it, from the above pictures! And, btw, I wouldn’t even claim that Mr Blair watches THIS space, Gorgeous Loudmouth, and this space admires him. HUGELY.

Also reported at Britain’s Press Gazette. I bet that was painful for them. Censureship for an anti-westerner? Worrying.  Getting nearer by the minute, punmpkins.

George Galloway threatens the British (56 seconds)

    Retitled –

George Galloway threatens “10,000 dead bodies”

[UPDATE: With reference to my next paragraph, found it uploaded again.]

But don’t panic! Just as I was about to publish this I noticed that the video has now been removed “due to a copyright claim by Adrian Cousins.” So WHO is Mr Cousins? The one who thinks it was fine to upload this and title it “George Galloway threatens the British”? Who is this fool? There is an Adrian Cousins at Facebook – linking to CounterFire. (This is the Counterfire website.) Although Mr Cousins has decided his video with Galloway calling for Death to 10,000 should no longer be viewable, he kindly allows viewers to see this one here.

The “Galloway Exposed” youtube channel still has the DEATH to 10,000 video. Download it if you can, just in case this upload is removed.

Whether Galloway’s “dead bodies” are supposed to be those of non-Muslims or Muslims is immaterial. Galloway is threatening the deaths of thousands on the streets of London. This man, insane or not, is inciting racial hatred AND, by his reference to hijabs and beards, religious hatred.

I have news for him and his cronies.

We have laws against that. That’s what comes of living in a law-abiding state.

The name at the top left of this video is Check out who contributes to this site.

The last think I am ever likely to do – well no, the last thing would be to stand or fall for freedom and democracy – but almost the last thing, would be to vote for the BNP.  I am no racist.

But an incoming link from a BNP supporting site brought this to my attention.  I know some will criticise even mentioning or linking to such a site. But falling for the divide-and-rule policy of some has its limits, imho. And this video is the limit.

This video is very, VERY important.

    George Galloway says (my bolding):

“And lastly to the EDL [English Democracy League], take a look around you,  boys. Take a look around you at this crowd.  If you dare touch a hijab on a Muslim woman’s head[cheers and increasing voluminous bellows from the ranters] if you dare  – if you dare – if you dare turn(?) a hair on the beard of a Muslim man in Tower Hamlets [more cheers from the half-insane ranters]you will have to fight your way through 10,000 dead bodies first. Thank you very much indeed [more cheers from GG’s roused associates and presumably would-be fellow murderers] ??? – [indiscernible, but does not sound like English.]

Pardon, Galloway? 10,000 dead bodies? Whose?

The other speaker then says –

“This is why I believe that we should be brave enough to come and I said to you before that it’s not up to the police to decide when we march, where we march and how we march – [indiscernible]

Sorry, mate! IT IS UP TO THE POLICE. Get that into your thick skull or get out of this country and rant your insurrection where it’s treated as it deserves to be – Iran, for instance.

    The Islamic Repubic of Iran

See here (journalist against the Iranian state) and here – (criminals hanged) and here – (hanged for being gay), and here – (hanged for killing her husband after years of abuse). (22 year-old Delara Darabi was executed, May 2009 by Iran and for a crime it is said she didn’t commit.

She confessed to this crime only to protect her boyfriend, both believing she would not be convicted because at 17  she would have been under age. WHY did they assume that? Iran, above all other so-called democratically elected, so-called governments in this world, has a long, disgraceful record of hanging children for “offences”.

This, THIS is what Galloway clearly thinks is quite the thing.

The video at the top opens for only an instant on the profile of a caucasian man. Apart from Galloway, his is the only white face you are likely to spot in this group; the rest are Asian.  Is that man content to be associated with this crowd of extremists, screaming for the MURDER of his own countrymen? Compare this to the video of the One Vote For All gathering on the same day here:

In the top video here (go and have another quick reminder) at 0.07 seconds into the 56 second video NOTE the NUT banner.

The NUT is the National Union of Teachers. Of TEACHERS!!! I used to be a member of that organisation, FGS! And now it is flying the flag of those in favour of Sharia Law. Those whose British-born spokesman threatens to kill “10,000” British citizens.

They have no place in a free society. Except behind bars.

The poster in the background “Celebrate Our Diversity” is a fig-leaf for Islamist fundamentalist separatism. This is NOT celebrating. This is incitement to kill. CLEARLY. There can be no argument.

What are the Police going to do about Galloway and his ranting? I suggest –

His associate in this video should also be charged with insurrection and incitement. He is of the opinion that they do not have to listen to the Police. They do have to listen. As did the One Law For All group on this very day. As did the EDL on that very day – and were arrested, seemingly, for just turning up. My understanding is that in order to demonstrate any group needs to apply for permission to the Police a week or more in advance of the event. If I am right, why were Galloway’s group of Sharia Law fans fanatics permitted to crash the One Law For All  (perfectly peaceful) campaign, MILES away from THIS lot’s original east-end demo?

One Law For All: Shariah – Muslims Against Crusades

‘Muslims Against Crusades’? What crusades? If there had ever been a ‘crusade’ in recent years, and some might say there should have been, this lot would be no more. This is from this group’s channel Call 2 Islam. Peaceful-looking bunch, aren’t they?

Since the EDL people who turned up at One Law for All’s demo arrived uninvited they were bundled into Police vans because they ‘didn’t have a permit to demonstrate’.

Did the pro-Sharia law group, those who turned up to counter the legal and permitted ‘One Law for ALL’ group have a permit? It certainly looks as though they, who had earlier demonstrated with Galloway in East London presumably then under police permit,  turned up opposite Downing Street regardless of this little nicety. If they did not have a permit, WHY were they not arrested too?

If so, you’re right. These people seem to have a thing about the number 10,000. Is it in the koran? A version of feeding the 5,000 –  killing the 10,000?

Do you remember this idiot – Lord Ahmed?

He it was who threatened to “mobilise ten thousand Muslims” if Geert Wilders was allowed into Britain. The government succumbed to the threat.  They clamped down on free speech (as long as it came from those who love and support FREE speech!) and prevented Wilders from entering Britain.  Since then Wilders has been highly successful in the Dutch general election. But don’t let that worry you, little jihadist caliphaters, he is also standing trial for inciting against the inciters!! (Trial to resume in October 2010).

    What a stupid, crazily upside-down, self-destructive world.

Quote from Cranmer here: “Lord Ahmed is not functioning as a Labour peer; he is the self-appointed khalifa of all things Islamic. He is not concerned to protect freedom of expression or freedom of speech, but to stifle debate and ensure that Parliament submits to the Dar Al-Islam.”

He and TEN thousand others, it would seem.

More from this site on the pleasant individual “Lord” Ahmed:

You can report Galloway online to the MET Police here

Of course we know the Police and the government already know all about last Sunday’s disgraceful events opposite Downing Street. How could they not?  But for some reason –  fear of civil unrest –  they prefer to be intimidated.

What will the new government the ConDems do about them? CONDEMN them? Yeah, right.

A REMINDER FOR THE CON/DEM GOVERNMENT (in case Cameron & Clegg failed to notice, like the press)

Last week I reported on the One Vote For All march in Whitehall – Sharia Law – One Law For ALL demo hi-jacked. Press fail to notice. I mentioned there that this demo had been hijacked by a group of Muslims who just happened to be demonstrating in another part of London earlier in the day. I mentioned then that this second group then crashed the One Vote for All Campaign march which had been, and remained despite screeching, ranting provocation from mad Islamists, perfectly peaceful.

The press did not cover any of this, not even the peaceful side (One Law For All)

Crimes can be reported ONLINE here. It took a little bit of digging to find this page, and for a while I wondered if this facility had been deleted.  Telephone numbers are also provided.  Go here to see the numbers you can ring.

At the MET’S ‘Reporting Crime’ page are provided the usual 999 number if a crime is happening “NOW”. It also says this:

    Non-emergency contact number

If you wish to contact the Metropolitan Police Service and it is not an emergency please call 0300 123 1212.

It then links to this information on the non-emergency contact number

“Unless it’s an emergency, call the Metropolitan Police Service on 0300 123 1212.

You now only need to know two numbers to contact the Metropolitan Police:

In an emergency always call 999

An emergency is when a crime is happening, someone suspected of a crime is nearby, someone is injured, being threatened or in danger.”

So, let us get this clear, please. Just for those of us who want to inform the Police.

Is it an emergency or a non-emergency when George Galloway threatens death to 10,000?

Your guess, like the Police’s and the present government’s, is as good as mine. Just do it this way – online –

Report Galloway online to the MET Police here

You might also find this interesting –

At ‘MET POLICE CAREERS’ Martin Tiplady, Director of Human Resources apologises for the new (ConDem government?) policy.

“Two to three years” he says,  before new police officers can be recruited.  What? Is that David Cameron’s way of protecting the public from the rabid?

    Ban Blair-Baiting

    28th February, 2010

Following on from my previous post – Islamic terrorism: All About Iraq, isn’t it? – and as mentioned there briefly, I thought it was worth letting you know that ONE BRITISH POLITICIAN has finally spoken out about his concerns over Islamic infiltration, or ENTRYISM,  into the British Labour party and other parties. His name is Jim Fitzpatrick and he is Environment Minister, not just a humble backbencher. More on this in a moment.

Before I expand on this I’d like to tell you that I experienced a bid at entryism personally years ago as chairman and prospective parliamentary candidate of a constituency in one of our major cities.

It was long before 9/11.  Long before Tony Blair became British Prime minister. Long before the Iraq or Afghanistan wars. Long before there was a ‘religion’ called political correctness in Britain. And long before the British press had formed the opinion that we were doing it all wrong as regards those who had immigrated here and whose habits were and still are self-contained and organised within their groups.

(Group-think has always been important in some such immigrant groups, backed up by bullying where the follower-thinkers do not feel inclined to comply.)

I seldom talk about my past political involvement. It’s in the past and today I am not inclined to join any party. I consider leadership important and I just don’t see leadership right now, right here in Britain. The sharp-eyed regular reader might have noticed that I have made clear that I have never been a Labour party member.  But I was highly active for some years in another of the three main political parties.

It was prior to the 1992 general election (which Labour lost again to the Conservatives.) A group of Muslims, around 70 if I recall correctly, had fallen out with the Labour party to which they had previously belonged.

They attempted to join our constituency group, which was in opposition to Labour, through various local wards.

Our constituency membership secretary, who normally had trouble signing up a few members a month, noticed a plethora of membership applications from people with Asian names. Using due diligence he found out that they had been seen as a cabal within Labour, and had left or been asked to leave that party.

NONE of them was permitted to join our party or constituency, even though we knew that signing them up would probably have meant that we could have won several wards in the upcoming local elections. But let’s not be high-minded about this. I recall that the reason they were not permitted to join was that none of them actually lived in our constituency. They had all belonged to the adjoining constituency’s wards.

I wondered then, and I wonder now to be frank, what would have happened if their addresses had actually been within our constituency boundaries. I do not believe that they would necessarily and automatically have been excluded, a “cabal” or not. In recent decades new party members have always been hard to find.

Here’s the article at the Telegraph by Andrew Gilligan (OK, I know, I know… )

    Islamic Radicals Infiltrate Labour

A Labour minister says his party has been infiltrated by a fundamentalist Muslim group that wants to create an “Islamic social and political order” in Britain.

The Islamic Forum of Europe (IFE) — which believes in jihad and sharia law, and wants to turn Britain and Europe into an Islamic state — has placed sympathisers in elected office and claims, correctly, to be able to achieve “mass mobilisation” of voters.

Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph, Jim Fitzpatrick, the Environment Minister, said the IFE had become, in effect, a secret party within Labour and other political parties.

“They are acting almost as an entryist organisation, placing people within the political parties, recruiting members to those political parties, trying to get individuals selected and elected so they can exercise political influence and power, whether it’s at local government level or national level,” he said.

“They are completely at odds with Labour’s programme, with our support for secularism.”

Mr Fitzpatrick, the MP for Poplar and Canning Town, said the IFE had infiltrated and “corrupted” his party in east London in the same way that the far-Left Militant Tendency did in the 1980s. Leaked Labour lists show a 110 per cent rise in party membership in one constituency in two years.

In a six-month investigation by this newspaper and Channel 4’s Dispatches, involving weeks of covert filming by the programme’s reporters:

    • IFE activists boasted to the undercover reporters that they had already “consolidated … a lot of influence and power” over Tower Hamlets, a London borough council with a £1 billion budget.
    • We have established that the group and its allies were awarded more than £10 million of taxpayers’ money, much of it from government funds designed to “prevent violent extremism”.
    • IFE leaders were recorded expressing opposition to democracy, support for sharia law or mocking black people. The IFE organised meetings with extremists, including Taliban allies, a man named by the US government as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and a man under investigation by the FBI for his links to the September 11 attacks.
    • Moderate Muslims in London told how the IFE and its allies were enforcing their hardline views on the rest of the local community, curbing behaviour they deemed “un-Islamic”. The owner of a dating agency received a threatening email from an IFE activist, warning her to close it.
    • George Galloway, a London MP, admitted in recordings obtained by this newspaper that his surprise victory in the 2005 election owed more to the IFE “than it would be wise – for them – for me to say, adding that they played a “decisive role” in his triumph at the polls.

Mr Galloway now says they were one of many groups which supported his anti-war stance and had never sought to influence him.

The IFE has particularly close links to Tower Hamlets council. Seven serving and former councillors said Lutfur Rahman, the current council leader, gained his post with the group’s help.

Some said they were canvassed by a senior IFE official on his behalf. After Mr Rahman was elected, a man with close links to the group, Lutfur Ali, was appointed assistant chief executive of the council with responsibility for grant funding.

This was despite a chequered employment record, a misleading CV and a negative report from the headhunters appointed to consider the candidates. The council’s white chief executive was subsequently forced from his post.

Since Mr Rahman became leader, more council grants have been paid to a number of organisations which our investigation established are closely linked to the IFE.

Funding for other, secular groups was ended or cut. In the borough’s well-known Brick Lane area, council funds were switched from a largely secular heritage trail to a highly controversial “hijab sculpture”, angering many residents who accused the council of “religious triumphalism”.

Schools in Tower Hamlets are told by the council should close for the Muslim festival of Eid, even where most of their pupils are not Muslim.

Mr Rahman refused to deny that an IFE activist had canvassed councillors on his behalf. He said: “There are various people across Tower Hamlets who get excited, who get involved.”

He would not comment on concerns about infiltration, saying they were “party matters”. He said: “If you look at our flagship policies, like investing £20 million to tackle overcrowding, you can see that we are working for everyone.”

The IFE said it did not seek to influence the council and had not lobbied for Mr Rahman. “If anything, existing members of the Labour Party have joined the IFE, rather than the other way round,” it said.

The group insisted it was not a fundamentalist or extremist organisation and did not support violence.

    Remember this?

October 2008: Shahid Malik, Muslim Labour MP (‘a terrorist in a suit’)! [49 seconds only]

Listen to these words: “At this rate the whole parliament will be Muslim. But just to say – in case there are journalists here today – that is not my objective.”

    Translates as:

“If there are no journalists here today  – that IS my objective.”

I wrote about this man’s words here in May 2009. He uttered these words in October 2008.

How often do we hear Jews, Sikhs, Buddhists – MPs or not –  even Christians talking of politics in terms of religion? That’s right – NEVER.

    Only Muslims do.

And they still want to argue that it is a religion only and not a political movement? Pull the other one.

Excerpt: For more than a decade, Britain (especially London) has been a focus for Hamas’ political, propaganda and even legal activities in Europe. As far as Hamas is concerned, such activities have been successful and produced results. In fact, in recent years, Hamas, with Muslim Brotherhood support, has managed to take over a considerable portion of the Palestinian discourse in Britain, at the expense of the Palestinian Authority and Fatah, and has contributed to turning Britain into a center for extensive anti-Israeli activity.

This post is a copy-and-paste job, linking to the original site here. Knowing the one and a half second attention span of many internet onliners, and their propensity for click-away distraction, there’s more chance of people reading it right through if it’s all here. It’s a long article. Sometimes there is a need for length in order to provide the evidence in one readable session. Go to the end to read about the website and its writer.

This is written from a pro-Israel angle, so some of you can click away right now, and prove its point.

Article from MEAIC (Middle East Affairs Information Center):

For more than a decade, Britain (especially London) has been a focus for Hamas’ political, propaganda and even legal activities in Europe.

In our assessment, Britain is central for Hamas because it has the following advantages:

    A. Britain has freedom of political action and freedom of speech, which enable Hamas to promote its anti-Israeli activity with impunity and to exploit Britain’s democratic policies in order to spread vicious incitement against Israel and the Jews. They do so despite the fact that the European Union has designated Hamas as a terrorist organization without differentiating between Hamas’ political and military-terrorist wings. Hamas and its Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades are included in updated EU list (January 26, 2009), which deals with terrorist groups and entities. Therefore, Hamas’ activity in Britain should have been banned, but the the British legal system is very tolerant, and radical Islamic groups operating on its soil, including Hamas, exploit it.

[Ed: See Aug 2003, political wing of Hamas (as well as military) likely to be banned in Britain & Europe.  May 2009  – individuals added to British government banned list. I may interets you that right now there is no online list of proscibed terrorsist groups. You can e-mail the Home Office here and ask why.]

    B. A broad network of activists and supporters: Initially composed of a core of Hamas operatives who found refuge in Britain in the 1990s, it is aided by radical Islamic elements (most conspicuously by the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas’ parent organization), along with radical leftist organizations hostile to Israel and the West. They make it possible for Hamas and its ideology to infiltrate British politics, media and universities. Hamas has supporters in the British political system affiliated with the radical left such as George Galloway, Ken Livingstone,1 Jenny Tonge and Jeremy Corbin.2

    C. As far as the media are concerned, Britain is one of the most important centers in the world, especially for the Arabic-language press, television and Internet. By exploiting the Arab media operating in London and by issuing its own publications, Hamas gained the capabilities to spread its message to the Muslim communities in the West and its target audiences in the Middle East.

    D. As far as legal aspects are concerned, Hamas exploits the British legal system, which enables it to use British courts to bring suits against senior Israeli political and military figures on accusations of so-called “war crimes.” Thus for Hamas (through its network of local supporters), Britain is a convenient arena in which the Goldstone Report can be employed to make political and propaganda capital against Israel, using it as a basis for trying Israeli public figures and delegitimizing the State of Israel.

In the extensive anti-Israeli activity undertaken by Hamas in Britain, the movement is careful to hide its identity to keep from running afoul of the British legal system and authorities. For that reason its activists and supporters (including those who were formerly Hamas operatives) are careful not to identify themselves formally as Hamas activists, preferring to appear as supporters of the Palestinian cause, identifying it with Hamas’ ideology and policies.

The following are examples of Hamas activity:

    A. Hamas propaganda from Britain directed at the Middle East and the Arab-Muslim communities in Europe and around the world:

    1) An online bi-weekly Hamas magazine is published in London. Called Al-Fateh, it is aimed at children, who a very important Hamas target audience. The magazine does not specifically say it is affiliated with Hamas, but its contents are clearly Hamas-oriented. The homepage of Hamas’ main site, Palestine-Info, has a permanent link to Al-Fateh’s website. Its articles inculcate children with the ideology of Hamas and radical Islam, and from an early age teach them the path of violence and terrorism. Its founder and editor-in-chief is Sami al-Halabi (as noted on the site’s homepage). That is apparently a pseudonym for Abdallah al-Tantawi (who was a senior Muslim Brotherhood figure in Syria in the mid-1990s).3 Al-Fateh receives Internet services from a site located in Moscow.4

    2) The monthly Filastin al-Muslima, Hamas’ main publication, has been issued in London since 1981. It spreads hate propaganda against Israel and encourages terrorism and terrorists. It is published in both hard copy and online. In the past its address in London appeared on the front page but currently no address is listed. However, subscription prices for Britain, Europe, the United States and Canada are all listed in pounds sterling (as of January 2010), an indication that its activity is still centered in Britain. The paper also owns a publishing house called Filastin al-Muslima Publications which in the past issued books glorifying the deeds of Hamas operatives (such as Salah Shahadeh, Yehia Ayash and Imad Aqel) and praising suicide bombing terrorism (in which Hamas played a leading role). It is unclear whether the publishing house continues its activity in Britain. Its ISP is the same Russian company which provides Internet services for Al-Fateh.5

    3) Hamas’ propaganda activity in Britain enjoys the support of the Muslim Brotherhood, its radical parent movement. The support is manifested by its dissemination of propaganda via, among other things, the satellite channel Al-Hiwar. It is an Arabic channel operating from London affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood. It appeals to Muslims all over the world, especially in Europe, but is also received by some Middle Eastern countries. It spreads radical Islamic messages and hatred for Israel. Muhammad Sawalha, a Hamas activist living in Britain, is a permanent guest on the channel’s programs. Two senior employees of the TV channel help Hamas spread its messages: Zaher Birawi, a Hamas activist who fled to Britain, is in charge of programming and the channel’s chief presenter; and Dr. Azzam Tamimi, a Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood activist who also fled to Britain, founded the channel and has headed it since 2006. A year ago the British regulator for television broadcasts determined that the channel’s open support for Qassam rocket fire into Israeli territory was a violation of British broadcasting law. Support for rocket fire into Israeli was expressed by Rashad al-Ghanoushi, head of the Tunisian Al-Nadha movement, affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.6 However, Al-Hiwar continued spreading calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and praising the path of “resistance” (i.e., terrorism)

    B. Involvement in (and possibly initiating) legal actions to try senior Israelis in British courts: Dia’a al-Din Madhoun, head of the Hamas’ “documentation committee” (Al-Tawthiq) said that the committee had initiated suits in British courts against former Minister Tsipi Livni when it became known that she planned to visit Britain on December 13, 2009. He said that the committee was working in coordination with a lawyer in Britain named Tayib Ali and a group of other lawyers.7 Hamas’ “documentation committee” seems to provide such lawyers with “evidence” (concocted by the de facto Hamas administration) as “legal” foundations for trying Israelis. Tayib Ali is active in forums in Britain working to try so-called Israeli “war criminals,” and to that end, on December 7, 2009 lectured at a seminar to promote trials of “Israeli war criminals” under the sponsorship of a group called The Middle East Monitor.

    C. Involvement in anti-Israeli activity in universities: In our assessment, Hamas’ involvement in university activity is carried out through radical leftist organizations and radical Islamic elements (such as activists affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood). Their activities include anti-Israeli incitement (through Hamas-supporting speakers who appear at university functions or student activities), initiatives for academic boycotts of Israel and for supporting the de facto Hamas administration in the Gaza Strip. Hints of Hamas involvement can be seen in the London School of Economics’ Student Union decision on November 26, 2009, to twin with the Islamic University in Gaza, Hamas’ political and military stronghold in the Gaza Strip. The Student Union of Queen Mary College followed in their footsteps (December 8, 2008). Both institutions are part of London University.8

    D. Transferring money to Hamas’ social infrastructure (the da’wah) in the Palestinian Authority-administered territories through Interpal, a Hamas-affiliated fund in Britain: Interpal, which was outlawed in Israel and the United States, is one of Hamas’ main foundations and for many years has been raising money and channeling it into Hamas’ social infrastructure in the Palestinian Authority-administered territories.11 It is also included in the Union of Good, an umbrella organization for dozens of Islamic funds and foundations around the globe which support Hamas’ da’wah. In recent years, since the Salam Fayyad government replaced the boards of directors of Hamas’ charitable societies in Judea and Samaria with activists affiliated with the Palestinian Authority, Interpal has reduced its activity, resulting in funds drying up for charitable societies previously run by Hamas. That again illustrates Interpal’s fundamentally political nature and shows that its primary function is to strengthen Hamas’ civilian infrastructure.

    E. Providing money and material support for the de facto Hamas administration in the Gaza Strip through Lifeline convoys: The convoys are dispatched to the Gaza Strip by an organization called Viva Palestina, founded by pro-Hamas British MP George Galloway. The Lifeline-3 convoy left London on December 6, 2009, with participants from many countries and large amounts of vehicles and equipment. Its activists became involved in violent confrontations with Egyptian security forces in El-Arish, resulting in injuries to 50 of them. On January 8, 2010 Galloway was expelled from Egypt and declared persona non grata. On April 13, 2009, a conference was held in the Town Hall in Kensington, London, entitled “Victory in Gaza – Our Road to Jerusalem.” At the conference George Galloway reported he had transferred £1.4 million to Ismail Haniya, “the elected prime minister of Palestine.”12 Having learned the lesson of Lifeline-3’s confrontation with Egypt, Muhammed Kazem Sawalha, the senior Hamas activist in Britain noted above, who had also played an important role in dispatching the convoy, said that preparations had begun to send another one. He said it would come by sea from Turkey, Greece and Cyprus at the end of March 2010, and be composed of six or seven ships. He said that coming by sea would prevent an “unwanted confrontation” with Egypt, and that “next time, there will be a direct confrontation with the Zionist enemy on the high seas” (From an interview with Sawalha on Al-Intiqad, a Hezbollah website, January 17, 2010). George Galloway also said that he planned to send other convoys to the Gaza Strip during the coming year.

The home page of Hamas’ biweekly children’s magazine, Al-Fateh, February 2010

Cover of the January 2010 issue of Hamas’ British-issued Filastin al-Muslimah. The subscription price is located in the upper left corner: £25 for Britain and Europe, £35 for the United States, Canada and Australia, and £30 for the rest of the world. Noting the prices in pounds sterling is an indication that the publication’s main activity is in Britain

Tayib Ali lectures at an anti-Israeli seminar entitled “Universal Jurisdiction against Israeli War Criminals.” The seminar was attended by academics, jurists, “peace activists” and members of the British Parliament (

De facto Hamas administration head Ismail Haniya at a meeting with George Galloway during the latter’s visit to the Gaza Strip with the Lifeline 1 convoy. (The convoy left Britain on February 14, 2009, and entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing on March 9, 2009.) Pro-Palestinian British MP George Galloway gives Hamas national economy minister money raised by the British convoy (Hamas’ daily Felesteen, March 11, 2009)

    Hamas Activists in Britain

Prominent at the center of the broad activity described above are several former Hamas activists who found refuge in Britain at the beginning of the 1990s. They include Muhammad Kazem Sawalha, Dr. Azzam al-Tamimi, Zaher Khaled Hassan al-Birawi (who is also head of the board of trustees of the Palestinian Return Centre) and Majid Khalil Musa al-Zir (head of the Palestinian Return Centre). They all hold key positions in a long list of anti-Israeli Islamic organizations active in Britain.

Because of security considerations and not to find themselves exposed to legal and political difficulties with the British authorities, the above are careful to hide their Hamas pasts and their connections with the movement. However, throughout the years intelligence information has linked them to official Hamas elements. All four are active in anti-Israeli groups and organizations in Britain which serve Hamas’ propaganda effort.

A clear example of a Hamas activist who escaped from the Palestinian Authority-administered territories and became a prominent figure in Britain is Muhammad Kazem Sawalha. He was a senior Hamas operative in Judea and Samaria, which caused him to be wanted by the Israeli security services. In 1990 he fled to Britain using forged documents and has lived there ever since. He is deeply involved in the Muslim community in Britain and in large-scale anti-Israeli activities, which include incitement and organizing demonstrations (although in public he is careful not to describe himself as a Hamas activist). Some of his activities in Britain in the past few years were the following:13

    A. On March 19, 2004, the Muslim Brotherhood website referred to him as the “UK official (mas’ul) of the Political Committee of the International Muslim Brotherhood Organisation in the UK14 (Hamas is the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood).

    B. He was one of the founders of the Muslim Association of Britain, an organization affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, and headed it from 1999 to 2007. After that he became the chairman of an organization called the British Muslim Initiative (BMI).

    C. On July 21, 2007, he appeared on Hamas’ Palestine-Info website as head of the International Committee to Lift the Siege on the Gaza Strip.

    D. In July 2009 he was reported as deputy chairman of an organization called The Popular Committee in Support of the Palestinian People, which describes itself as coordinating between many organizations and institutions all over the world for the sake of “the victory of Palestine” and to “lift the siege of Gaza” (The organization’s website gave in-depth coverage to the aid convoy which arrived in Gaza at the beginning of January 2010, headed by British MP George Galloway).

    E. He was one of the signers of the Istanbul Declaration: On February 13, 2009, a meeting was held in Istanbul attended by Islamic groups from all over the world. Representatives signed a document proclaiming the “victory” of Hamas in Gaza (i.e., in Operation Cast Lead) and stating that the jihad in Gaza was part of the jihad being waged by Islam around the globe. The declaration included support for the “resistance (i.e., terrorism) throughout the world and for a jihad against Israel until the “liberation of all Palestine.” It also supported Hamas and opposition to peace with Israel, which was described as a betrayal of Palestine and all Muslims.16

Appendix 1:Fostering the image of terrorist operatives and encouraging rocket fire into Israeli territory: Filastin al-Muslima, like Hamas’ other media, fosters the image of terrorist operatives and represents them as role models. The February 2010 issue contains an article about the shaheed Hassan Muhammad Harb, who was killed by the IDF. It said he “participated in many jihad missions of firing mortar shells and Grad missiles at the Zionist settlements” (Note: Responding to the Goldstone Report, Hamas denied that Israeli civilians were targeted by rocket fire…). It also said that he was considered expert at firing mortar shells and was very active in firing rockets during Operation Cast Lead.

Appendix 2:Smearing Israel at the Universities: Azzam al-Tamimi Lectures at Cambridge

Dr. Azzam al-Tamimi, 55, is a Palestinian born in Hebron, a Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood activist who found refuge in Britain at the beginning of the 1990s. He received a PhD in political theory from Westminster University in London in 1998. He was an activist and speaker for Islamic organizations affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan in the 1990s. In Britain he is active in Islamic and Palestinian political and propaganda issues. He has expressed support for the Taliban, the Islamic insurgents in Iraq, Hezbollah and Hamas on many occasions. He apparently maintains close ties with Hamas leaders, including Khaled Mashaal, the head of Hamas’ political bureau. In the past he has rejected the right of the State of Israel to exist, called for the establishment of an Islamic emirate in the Gaza Strip and expressed support for suicide bombing terrorism. In 1998 he headed an institution called The Institute of Islamic Political Thought.

Dr. Al-Tamimi was recently invited to speak at Cambridge by the University’s Muslim Society.9 On January 8, 2010, he spoke to students at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies, better known as SOAS. He praised Hamas, saying that “today Hamas is considered a terrorist organisation because that’s what the Americans and Israelis and cowardly politicians of Europe want, but what is so terrorist about it? You shouldn’t be afraid of being labelled extreme, radical or terrorist. If fighting for your home land is terrorism, I take pride in being a terrorist. The Koran tells me if I die for my homeland, I’m a martyr and I long to be a martyr.” He also expressed objection to the two-state solution, saying “Why are the Jews superhuman and better than anyone else that God would give them a homeland? Is God a racist? A god who would prefer people because of their race is not a god I want to associate with. Claiming they are being given the land of God is a racist idea (ITIC emphasis).” He added that “Israel does not belong to my homeland and must come to an end. This can happen peacefully if they acknowledge what they did — or we will continue to struggle until Israel is no more (ITIC emphasis).”10

Notes:1 George Galloway is a pro-Hamas member of the British Parliament, who played a key role in the assistance convoy Lifeline-3 which was sent to the Gaza Strip. The convoy participants confronted the Egyptian authorities and Galloway was declared personal non grata. Ken Livingstone is an anti-Israel member of the radical left who until 2008 was mayor of London, and a former  Labour MP, from which he was dismissed in 2000. As part of Hamas’ smile attack for the West, Livingstone interviewed Khaled Mashaal, head of the Hamas political bureau in Damascus. The interview was published in the New Statesman on September 17, 2009. It features vicious anti-Israeli propaganda and evades all clarification of Hamas’ radical ideology for the British reader. For further information see the September 23, 2009 bulletin, “Hamas’ smile attack for the West: Ken Livingstone interviews Khaled Mashaal, a case study” at Downloads. (by ITIC).

2 Jenny Tonge is a former Liberal MP who recently called on Israel to appoint its own inquire committee to examine claims of organ theft by the Israeli humanitarian delegation in Haiti. Former Foreign Minister Labour MP Jeremy Corbin is active in promoting the struggle against the so-called Israeli “siege” of the Gaza Strip and was very acting in trying to bring former Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni trial for war crimes.

3 According to the February 2005 issue of Al-Ra’ed, an Islamic paper published in Germany, Abdallah al-Tantawi founded Al-Fateh in September 2002, helped found several other Islamic-oriented children’s publications and served as their editor-in-chief. According to the paper, one of the publication was called Firas and Abdallah al-Tantawi customarily wrote for it using the pseudonym Sami al-Halabi “for political reasons” (i.e., to make it difficult to expose him). The paper also stated that with the founding of Al-Fateh al-Tantawi made his first Internet appearance.

7 Al-Tayib Ali, 34, works for a law firm in London. His name was mentioned in the past as being behind the arrest warrant for Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak when he visited Britain for a Labour Party event in September 2009. A group of pro-Palestinian lawyers brought a suit in London calling for the arrest of Defense Minister Barak on charges of so-called “war crimes” during Operation Cast Lead. One of the lawyers, Al-Tayib Ali, said he was disappointed the suit was rejected, and hinted that other suits might be brought against Barak when he finished his term of office and would no longer enjoy diplomatic immunity (Agence France-Presse, September 30, 2009). According to the July 19, 2009 issue of the British Law Society Gazette, Ali represents two Al-Qaeda terrorists who claim they were tortured during interrogation.

9 While Dr. Azzam Tamimi was invited to speak, the invitation extended to Israeli historian Professor Benny Morris by the Israeli Student Society was cancelled (see below). The anti-Semitic atmosphere at prominent British universities was obvious from the hostile reception recently given to Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon at Oxford. His speech was interrupted by shouts of hatred for Israel and the Jews from demonstrators waving the Palestinian flag. (According to media reports, during his speech someone shouted “Slaughter the Jews.”)

10 See: The Jewish Student Society criticized the Cambridge University Muslim Student Society because a few days before Tamimi’s lecture, the Muslim Society urged the Israeli Society to cancel the invitation it had extended to Professor Morris, claiming he was “an Islamophobic hate speaker.” The invitation was cancelled but the Muslim students invited Tamimi, whose speech had strong elements of anti-Semitic anti-Israeli incitement. When Cambridge Islamic Society was asked by the Israel Society to revoke Dr Tamimi’s invitation, the response was: “Yes, we know he’s offensive but we welcome you to attend and challenge.” According to Labour MP Dennis MacShane said that “University chiefs are being foolish if they confuse freedom of expression with a platform for hate.”
